Q: Is this really waterproof? Any experiences with this on a rainy night?

Just add two coats of ScotchGuard Heavy Duty Waterproof Sealer to the outside surface of the sleeping bag (allow 12 hours to dry in between coats in a well ventilated area such as outdoors, laundry room or garage); costs around $8.00 per can at your local Walmart). Then, it will be waterproofed. Do the same thing to backpacks, suit cases, fabric on seats, shoes and boots (add three coats to these), pants and jeans (especially the legs), hats, belts made from fabric, tents, tarps, rain fly's, ground cloths and foot prints, bear bags, stuff sacks, compression bags, umbrellas, ponchos, rain suits, gloves, coats and windbreakers, and bivvy's to improve their weather resistance rating and to make them repell water easier. Yes, I washed it. But laid out to dry, no dryer.

Q: hey.. how big is the bag when it is packed, does it fit into a tracking bag?

I measured the package when received it - about 16"x9" cylinder shape. Does not compress more... 1/2" at the most. I'm returning it just because of the size - it's about 2x of my other backpacking sleeping bag. I was planning this for my son, but it's simply too big for backpacking.
