No, unlike DEET, it does not have any smell. In addition, it does not stain clothing or backpacks. It repels mosquitoes very effectively. I took it with me on a two-week stay in Antigua, Guatemala, and I did not get one bite. Highly recommended.

Q: Does this work against bed bugs?

Permethrin is better choice for that. Picardin only repels, permethrin kills.

Q: Does this work on clothing?

Yes it can but for longer lasting protection on clothing and gear, we would recommend using our Permethrin Fabric Treatment which is effective for 6 weeks or 6 washes after drying.

Q: Does this repell ants? I keep getting ant bites.

It says “flying insects and ticks”. Some ants fly, I would bet that it does because we were not at all harassed by any bugs. The truth is that I don’t know but I would try it if I was getting ant bites.
