Does psyllium husk promote weight loss?

It has no immediate positive benefit toward weight loss, but if you don't get enough fiber in your diet, it can help you maintain a more consistent weight as you won't be having as much, well, inconsistency, in how long food stays in your system.If taken with a meal it can slow stomach emptying, which in the case of a sugary meal can reduce your body's insulin response somewhat, and that could theoretically help you be less prone to store carbs as fat at that particular time. But, honestly, it's going to be a really finicky thing to try and say it's definitely doing this or that for you, the only thing you can 100% count on is it'll help you be regular and have consistent and easy poos. That's the main thing. And, in that role, by the way, it's matched by other things rich in soluble fiber, like oatmeal.I take it because I do a ton of meal replacement during the day, and as such I don't get a lot of fiber until dinner. With these, that's not a problem anymore. In a sense it's helping with my weight loss, but honestly I lost most of my weight (-130lbs since 2014!) before starting these and I don't think adding them would have been some kind of crazy difference there.

Is this product the same as Metamucil Psyllium?

Psyllium is psyllium. It's only got the one ingredient, and that ingredient is the same as any other brand of psyllium. The only differences could be whether its in caps or bulk, the size of the caps (these are 500mg), the number of caps in each bottle, and what the capsule is made of. I have been using this Now Food psyllium for years and I love it, and it's much much cheaper than Metamucil. Try it, you'll be satisfied.

Is this the same as Skinny Fiber?

I'm also taking a multi vitamin with garcinia cambogia in it, between the two it may as well be skinny fiber. I tried SF a few years ago and wish I'd done more research, this is a much cheaper option.
