Helped with V-Nails
After trying to hammer in v-nails without a tool and just a hammer, I learned a few things. First, v-nails don't like to stand up on their own. They have a bad tendency to fall over and misalign from their position before hitting. Then, after striking, it takes several hits to drive them in. Sometimes, they start to bend or deform due to bad technique or wood grain issues. I decided to spend the money on this rather than an air nailer due to cost reasons. This tool works great! It's a big hunk of steel that has a magnet on the end. Put v-nail on magnet, align with corner, hit hard with a hammer. I can usually drive the nail in 1 stroke, 2 to make sure it's flush. Simple, effective, and works as advertised.

Worked great with vee-nails
I use the tack holder to drive vee-nails to secure the corners of some frames I was making. Had previous tried to drive the vee-nails without any tool and it wasn't working. The tools specifically made to drive vee-nails cost more than I wanted to spend for a small one-time project. This tack holder held the vee-nails securely and allowed me to drive the nails into the wood easily. Very pleased with purchase and would recommend the tool to others.

An inexpensive solution does the job!
Very important to use this tool with picture frame joiner "V nails." Magnetic tip holds the V-nail strongly while you position the V fastener over the 45-degree cut when joining a picture frame. There are expensive machines/devices that pound these V-nails in, but for an occasional project, this little device does the job!

Works as Intended
I'm building frames for a sign company and needed something for driving the "V" nails. So far this tool has performed as designed. It's hard to tell from the description and photos, but this is a pretty hefty tool. If I was doing a ton of frames then I'd look for something different, but for now it gets the job done.

Purchased a new product but a used one arrived.
2-3 Stars for the Value for money category considering a previously used magnetic tack holder arrived in beat up packaging. With hammer hits included, this thing was in someone’s tool box for a while. Unable to rate the Sturdiness or Durability considering the current condition.

Great purchase for the home framer
I had been using dowels and a jig to pin join my homemade frames, but this has really saved me a lot of time and setup! Works like a charm, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like a joiner machine would!

Perfect V-nail setter for picture frames.
Using the Logan V-nails to make a lot of picture frames. No luck trying to use the V-nails with just a hammer - they're very thin and crush easily. Did not want to spend over $100 for the Logan setting tool, so gave this a try. Works absolutely fantastically. Solid, strong magnet, easy to place the pins and pound in.
