Q: How does this compare to a JBL flip 3/4 or anything else?

I also have both Flip 3 and 4, the sound and overall quality exceeds that of the Flip. I would describe the Flip as being louder only because the highs are very loud, the Tribit is very balanced especially in the mid range. Low frequency is a tad more pronounced on the Tribit. Range is much farther with the Tribit as well. I get a few more hours out of the Tribit at the same volume, keep in mind my Tribit is new and Flip 4 is a few months old (my Flip 3 is a couple years old).

Q: How long does battery last at Full volume?

Don't trust these answers. StormBox play time is a scam. Boasts 20 hours, but auto shuts off at 40% It'd shut off after two 8 hour shifts at modest volume, under partial use. However, an advertised 12 hour JBL Flip 5 under same use worked fine and sounds better. First time I submitted a report to amazon about false advertising.
