Q: brand new out of box and not working. changed batteries to duracells and still not working. Car lights up, says "are you ready to race" an shuts off?

Found this... Worked for me. For those who are unable to pair the car, due to the remote not having the 'advertised' on/off switch. Try the following.... 1. Make sure the switch on the car is in the 'off' Position (The middle position) 2. Insert batteries into both the car and they remote 3. (This part may need a second pair of hands, but it's possible to do by yourself) With the remote in hand and the car close by, hold the Green 'Go' button and blue ' reverse' button down, together. Remain to hold down the buttons until the red light begins to flash off and on. 4) (Here's where you may need a helper) While continuing to hold the 2 buttons down on the remote, turn the car to the on position. 5) Now release the buttons on the remote and press the 'MT' button in the middle. I just tested this and it worked on both cars for me.

Q: if i buy 2 sets will the remotes interfere with each other. in other words are all cars on the same frequency or can 2 kids play on the same track ?

No...they use Bluetooth, so each car is registered with each remote.
