Can't beat the cordless
Replaces my 40 year old corded unit. Cuts much better, didn't realize how dull my old unit had become. Like the convenance of the cordless unit, glad I made the purchase.

Really Awesome, Inexpensive Clippers that Preform Well Above expectations.
My husband had some clippers he had purchased from the PX where he was stationed at the time. The were corded and heavy and after like two months were not cutting well at all. Knowing what a difference good clippers makes in how hair turns out from my experience with my dad's Braun clippers I kept bugging hubby to let me get new ones. Finally he let me purchase new ones. Not being able to find good reviews on anything Braun similar to what I was used to I asked a friend who is a beautician what she used and she said Wahl, but she used a corded one. I went through the little thing on Wahl's website that tells you what they think is best for your needs and they gave me this one. I was a little worried about the battery issue, but that was completely unfounded. This is what I determined:Pros:~*~They have already paid for themselves. It would be like $13 every two weeks for my husband to get his hair cut/trimmed. We have had them about 3.5 months and used them roughly 7 times. That's around $91, but the clippers were less than $60 with tax.~*~I have charged the battery once, the first day I received them. I completely charged it and have not had to charge it yet. Not only has it held the extra charge for over three months, but it's made it through cutting my husband's thick hair 7 times. I did not expect that at all.~*~It comes with all the attachments you could ever need and more.~*~There is a pamphlet with pictures telling you, not only what each of the different attachments do, but how and when to use them. It also has a picture showing you where each cut level should be, how to know what number to use on each level, and how to blend the levels. This was AWESOME for me because I had never had any formal training.~*~ It comes with a little trimmer as well that is good for doing the back of the neck, or any small spaces the bigger clippers won't get to. I use it mainly when my hubby needs edges trimmed, but not a whole hair cut. I also find it helpful for around the ears (there is an attachment for the big clippers for around the ear, but it took me a while to get brave enough to experiment with it).~*~I've dropped it a couple times and it has survived.~*~It comes with a really awesome cloth case.~*~It has an apron for the "hair dresser". Some people commented that it didn't work well for keeping hair off of them while getting their hair cut, but in looking at it, it makes more sense that it is to keep the hair off of the person cutting the hair, and for that purpose it works very well.~*~They are really light and although other said they feel cheaply made, I don't think so. They balance well and are heavy enough to be comfortable, but not make your arm super tired.Cons:~*~The scissors included aren't very good, but I still gave it five stars because I didn't buy this for the scissors. I just use my Conair ones I got at Walgreens for under $10.~*~The small trimmers are battery powered. They take two AAs. I hate putting this under the con section, but some people would look at it as one. These have gotten a lot of use as well, are really powerful for the batteries that are in them, and are STILL going strong on the FIRST set of batteries, so I don't really see it being a problem.Over all, these are amazing for the price and I love them. I don't dread cutting my husband's hair anymore because it's not tedious. I would highly recommend these to anyone.Update (May): I let my sister borrow these to cut my brother's hair and she charged them "just in case". I guess I'll have o wait several more months to see how long they will last on one charge. I also went and got my hair cut and took my cousin (his haircut exceeded my abilities) and she also uses these clippers. She said she loves that they're cordless and that the charge will last around 8 hours. The small clippers are also still going strong and I have not yet replaced those batteries. Still loving them both.

A LIttle Defense for Wahl On Complaints of Others .
I was a little worried about using a battery clipper especially with the negative reviews that said this clipper would tug at ones hair . I had used a competitors corded for years which became dull and was causing a short in my GFCI breaker system . I know what tugging is and this WAHL has good power for a personal clipper . Another complaint I heard was this doesn't cut close enough . Don't listen . I was excited to try the ear trimmer as I have never been able to do white walls over the ears . I made a " mistake " and needed a fix as we know hair grows back . I used the 1/16th with the lever moved up for closeness and buzzed my head in less then 5 minutes . This thing has power equal to my old corded and it is easier to use without a cord . It cut close enough to shave with one pass . Firefighters who like to go shaved will love this .A very important item no other reviews mentioned is the charger will not over charge the battery so you can leave it plugged in all the time for a full charge ( a surge protected outlet may be best ) . It also comes in a wonderful soft carry bag that would fit easily in a small carry bag for traveling . It could easily fit in a glove box . With a hour and 4o minute reserve one could easily do several cuts when off grid for whatever reason or traveling . The power button is a tad awkward but you can't as easily trip a push button as a normal slide bar switch found on corded clippers which would run the battery out - obviously why designers used this style . As far as the oil provided not being adequate Amazon has a bottle that will last years for $3 that also qualifies for free shipping if combined with the order . The casting on my blades was absolutely not rough but very clean and the clipper is chrome and black very nice in appearance as well as full normal size .The trimmer that comes with it is also very nice but I haven't had a reason to use it though for those who were sad it wasn't a lithium Lion tool a simple enuloop rechargeable battery creates the same efficiency . Good luck and have a great day hope this helped ease some fears created in other reviews the key will be how long this lasts as the battery is not customer serviced . My last corded went over 10 years they are about 40% less in price at around $30 .Note : it is March of 2013 clipper is working great as well as my talents with it are improving . It will quick charge in 15 minutes so I have stopped leaving it plugged in all the time and just plug it in before cutting my hair . I am using the little clipper to trim around my ears and my eyelashes . I cut my hair much more often with this set up . I just kneel in front of my toilet and let the hair fall in it . Thankfully buzz cuts are in style not that I ever cared that much about being in style . I find cutting the hair then jumping in the shower the best way to go . With this not only do I save money I can have a fresh cut as often as I take the time . No more then 10 minutes unless I am shaving my neck . I take duct tape and go from ear to ear and shave my neck below making a nice clean line in the back of my head . I can check behind my head with my back to a mirror and using a hand mirror to look into it to see what I have done . Hope this helps someone . You can do it I just use a number one and go over my whole head , trim with the little one around the ears and shave the back of my neck because I have no talent and it still looks great . Some people are able to style just like a barber with practice . If you make a mistake just cut like I do and it will grow back .
