Q: How long does this take to set-up? Trying to plan for Christmas Eve ha!

It took me four hours. Don't buy this toy. It falls apart immediately and even with super-gluing it, it still falls apart. It was a huge disappointment and real waste of money. Wish I'd bought the large Melissa and Doug castle instead.

Q: Does it have closed interior or does it rest directly on the floor?

There are sections of the castle that are closed. The tower has a closed interior with doors that open to the various sections. There is an open courtyard. It can sit directly on the floor. I would advise against buying it, though. It falls apart immediately. I had to superglue the whole thing, and still pieces fall off. It's fun as a model maybe, but definitely not for kids to really play with and have fun. I will never buy Playmobil products again after this mess!

Plastic. Again, I would not recommend this toy. It took hours to put together and fell apart immediately. I tried super-gluing it together and it still falls apart. If it were sturdier, it would be a great toy, but as it is, it's definitely a huge disappointment and not worth the money.
