Best book ever I love that the recipes are relatively simple and easy to understand, I love the little side note explanations, I will use this book often.

I have read about one third of the book and not found any problems so far. Recipes continue on the next page. That doesn't mean that there are no problems, but I haven't found them "yet".The content of the book is very good. It is readable and understandable. No seriously obscure language, lots of helpful tips and reminders. Some very good recipes here. I downloaded it for my Kindle/Cloud Reader and have been very pleased with it. My wife loves to bake and wants to try more pastries besides her apple pies and cinnamon rolls. This book is chalk full of a wide variety of very do-able pastries, from scones to brownies and beyond.One of the things I enjoyed personally are the various "icing" recipes. We occasionally make homemade doughnuts and I'm always on the hunt for different types of icing to try on them. My wife wants an icing for her banana bread and I saw a great one for a different bread that will likely go fantastic on banana bread. Espresso icing was in there too, so as a coffee lover, that is also on my short list!While I got my Kindle copy during a promo for free, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for wide range of baked goods, particularly if they were fairly new to baking.

I first purchased this for my Kindle, but some of the recipes were cut off. Since the entire book was so good, I decided to purchase it so I could easily use it. I collect cookbooks, but I also use them all the time. I am retired and love to be in the kitchen cooking and/or baking. This is a wonderful cookbook with outstanding recipes, tips, and more. Even those of us who are experienced in the baking department could use a basic cookbook such as this one. If I'd have any complaint, it would be the fact that I'd love more photos included.I also will say that I've always been very pleased with Amazon and my purchases. However, not so much with this order. I received this cookbook with the front cover's edge completely folded over. I had also received another item in this shipment that was slightly bent. I honestly didn't want to bother with sending the items back so kept them and I guess I shouldn't complain.

I downloaded this for my Kindle as I love to bake and thought there is always more to learn. I loved the book, very informative, great recipes. I enjoyed making many of the recipes included and the tips and tricks are quite helpful. It's alway interesting to me to learn just why a certain ingredient should be used over another and I think that that, more then just the great recipes, sets this apart from many other cookbooks.I would not however recommend the Kindle version. Many of the bottoms of pages were cut off for some reason. I have over 1000 books on my kindle and even more stored and have never had this problem before or since this particular book. I was hoping I could just use the kindle for the recipes but I am back to printing or writing them out.

I really like this baking cookbook. I am disappointed there are not a lot of pictures and I love pictures in cookbooks BUT the recipes are "easy". I say that with quotes because the breads, biscuits and rolls have some techniques that require some finesse and that is new for me. I bought this for my 11yr old daughter to learn to bake and am very pleased with the recipes in that they don't have a ton of ingredients and while I haven't tried all of them most of the ingredients are pantry regulars.The intro includes a recommendation of kitchen tools to have that make it easier to bake and "how to" sections.Overall a very good baking cookbook

A great beginners book to look into if you are into baking and want to better your baking skills. Most of the recipes comes with tips to get the recipe to come out perfectly which is a nice feature. Also, some of the recipes come with pictures of how the outcome is supposed to look like which is great. The recipes are straightforward and easy to follow although you might need patience to develop your recipes to be the greatest they can be. Overall, I definitely recommend this book if you are looking into learning tips and recipes to bake your creations.

Nice assortment of recipes. Nothing out of the ordinary, that is, it doesn't go much beyond the basics. But even old bakers like me tend to get away from the basics over time. Especially if they don't bake too often now their families are smaller, or health requires less of the baked goods in the diet.
