Q: Idea: IN 1-> bluetooth adapter to connect laptop. IN 2-> turntable. OUT-> 2.1 stereo. I want ability to switch between inputs. Will it work?

It will work but not ideally. You will need to power the bluetooth, this won't do that. Also you will need a phone pre amp either in the turntable or the 2.1 device. Also you will will probably need a 3.5mm to rca adapter. One caveat. I imagine your 2.1 thing has a volume control. If so then you will have to futz with 2 volume controls and really just need a switch without the volume. It will work better and be cheaper. If it doesn't then this would work just fine.

Hello. Yes. If both inputs are avtive, you can use 2 audio in and 1 audio out and then switch between the two inputs.

Yes, I get the same hum. If you turn the volume on the switch down to about 75% it goes away. Then just turn your computer's volume up higher to compensate.

Q: Will this be able to serve as a mute and volume control with an android phone and a headset?

I haven't tried that actually, but I have no reason not to see why that wouldn't work. Your headphone 3.5mm output would go into the Nobsound input, (so you'll need another 3.5mm cable) and then your headset's jack would go into the Nobsound output jack. Not sure though if you have a mic boom, if that will work. but if your mic boom already works with your android phone, assuming its a generic headset w/mic and not specific for that phone model, it should work.
