TrackIR still the best!
Still the best. The track clip PRO is really good but you have to set it up a special way. I have 4 TrackIR's. They work vey well once set up properly!

Solid and well worth the purchase product.
I’ve used this for a bit now, and it’s been absolutely amazing. I was using another app, for head tracking but it wasn’t as smooth and consistent as the TrackIR. The nice thing about the pro is you can either clip the wired tracker to your headphones, or on your VR if you just want a very big screen to play on. Since getting this I’ve been flying on MsFS and DCS and have had better accuracy in tracking and less headache with disconnect issues. I’ve actually bought another one as a back up, along with IR reflective tape so that I can pretty much use what ever I want to track on.

Great Support From Both Natural Point And KBI/Ergo Warehouse
The TrackIR is a product that performs well for me. I use it to play DCS World and Microsoft Flight Simulator and while the setup's learning curve is a bit steep, there's a lot of help on YouTube. A little perseverance will pay off. I did have a problem with the included TrackClipPro. It quit working but I was able to use the normal hat mounted clip with no issue. I created a trouble ticket with Natural Point (the manufacturer) that was responded to very quickly. Once they determined that it was defective, they told me to contact the seller on Amazon. I did just that and in 3 days, and two emails, I had my replacement. Great Support!! TrackIR has almost no serious competitors so, while it's a little spendy, it works as advertised and makes my gaming a whole lot more immersive. That and my excellent support experience makes recommending this thing a no-brainer.

Great product very few cons many pros
Iv put off trackIR for years but I finally went ahead and bought it now I prefer it over vr for simulators it is perfect for DCS and Star citizen. Pros: easy to get working directly out of the box Extremely accurate head tracking Has support in virtually all games that need head tracking to be enjoyable. Very comfortable Cons: while not many still think they need to be described The proclip while looks and feels quality it also has a fragile feel to it as well I often find my self worried I might snap one of the three lights off it or break the actual clip mechanism The mount for the IR receiver will fit all monitors but may not hold it Firmly In place While it is easy to get started right out of the box it may take some time to learn how to perfectly tune a profile to get it set up properly for you Overall great purchase worth every cent and would buy again if needed or a new generation came out

The closest you'll get to VR. This will put you IN the game.
Hands down the best $150 I've spent on peripherals when it comes to flight simulation. You couple this with a great HOTAS (I'm currently rocking the X56 and ThrustMaster Pedals) and you've got a recipe for an awesome experience in any flight sim. I literally cannot fly any sim without TrackIR after using it. It took about two days to get completely used to, and it hasn't come off my headphones since 2016 when I bought this bad boy. Being able to simply turn your head in a natural way and looking around in game feels amazing and frees your hands for flight controls! EFFORTLESSLY stay on target during dogfights and pulling G's. If you're playing against people without one, you will be miles ahead of them in a fight. Games it works best with: ArmA 3 (on ground as well), DCS World, Falcon 4.33 BMS, Elite Dangerous, X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Sim Folks are complaining that the clip sucks and doesn't stay locked; it doesn't suck and it does stay locked. I have a Sennheiser Game One headset (also incredible), and what I do to get it to stay locked is to pull the headset up a little bit to where the thinner part within the band is visible and locked the mechanism on there (picture for reference). It stays locked and has no moved after two years of use, wear and tear. I am usually pretty gentle with my headphones (I mean they're $250 with another $30 with the clip pro) but sometimes they fall off my stand or lap. The clip pro has held on strong through all my wear and tear without fail. Be warned that the TrackIR is very sensitive to bright lights. Just last night I had a candle burning behind me and couldn't figure out for the life of me why my TrackIR was freaking out. It was picking up the damn candle behind my shoulder, that was easily 5 feet away. It does not have a problem in well lit rooms, so you're good there! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT pass this up. You'll thank me later.

Cheap materials, very bad design and build quality
This is hands down one of the worst products I’ve ever purchased across any category. While the core functionality technically works, that’s the bare minimum you'd expect from a device with a single, simple purpose. The one star goes to the abysmal build quality and poor overall design. The plastic feels like the cheapest possible material—think disposable cutlery quality. The sensor stand is poorly thought out: it doesn't tilt, so unless your monitor is positioned just right, you’re out of luck. The unpowered tracking clip meant for hats is arguably the best piece of hardware in the box (made out of metal), but even that fails at its job. It doesn’t grip the hat securely and constantly slips out of place. The powered TrackClip Pro is a case study in bad design. It attaches awkwardly to headphones (e.g., Razer BlackShark), slowly slides out of place, is constantly visible in your peripheral vision, and feels fragile every time you remove your headset. The clunky size and poor materials make it genuinely frustrating to use. Considering the nearly $200 price tag (with tax), this is completely unacceptable. It feels like the manufacturer is taking advantage of a niche community. I returned it after just a week of steadily building frustration. TL;DR: The functionality is there, but it's wrapped in a poorly designed, cheaply made package that’s frustrating to use and unlikely to last. Unless you’re a professional-level flight simmer, you’re likely better off using one of the iPhone head-tracking apps—they’re more affordable and far less aggravating. If you're not a pro level virtual pilot, you'd be much better off buying one of the iphone apps that do head tracking, they work fine and for the price of a cheap, tilted charging stand for your desk + the app you get a frustration free solution. If you're a pro, you porbably already know all this and you have one of those headband ones. TL;DR: The basic functionality is there but it is a badly designed, very! poor quality toy that's awful to use and will physically break soon.

It does what it needs to, usually
It's unfortunate that this is really the only reasonably priced option if you need a head tracker for simulators, this is basically it. Particularly for DCS world, it's simply necessary to have a good time. So I'll leave it at that. It does what you want it to do, and reasonably well. You don't really need the head tracker pro unless you wear glasses. In that case, it often gets confused by seeing the IR reflection. So why only three stars? Quality and reliability. For nearly $200 US for us pro setup, and something that has been out for a very long time now, one should be able to expect some level of quality. This isn't. The build quality is EXTREMELY poor. The unit feels like something that would come in a McD happy meal. The lens over the sensor would probably scratch from a blade of grass. I just had to order a replacement because mine inexplicably died yesterday. Tried it on three different computers. Something failed and it no longer gets recognized as a legit USB device. So I ordered a new one. Got it today already. I had to send it back within a few hours. I realized quite quickly that it doesn't work either. This time, because of a random line that cuts right through the image, hence my picture. I can only get the line to go away by turning filtering up to max, but then it still keeps giving erroneous tracking data. So we will see if third time is the charm.
