Nice sound bad deck
The deck doesn't work well with a USB drive. I use 32 GB drives in my cars for music. This Clarion deck inexplicably starts playing in the fourth folder and the fourth song every time you plug the drive in. When you advance to the next folder, again, every time, it starts playing at the fourth song. The menu folder search selection function doesn't really work - it stars out where you left off and has no way to access the root folder except by advancing (which if you're using big drives like mine, can be a royal pain). The display is too dim to see in the sunlight and the useless information displayed every time ("Folder Name", Track Number", THEN the actual song name - it takes several seconds to scroll through all this till where you can see the actual title) makes it difficult to use to find a track. Plus when you do actually find a track and select it, it'll once again start playing at the fourth track - so if you want to listen from the first track, you have to manually hit "previous track" four times. Really stupid. The same drive works well in both Kenwood and Pioneer decks. In those, with the folder search function, you start out at the root and then can drill down to what you want. I have my music arranged by genres, then by artist, then by album. For example, to find the song "Blue Sky" by the Allman Brothers, I'd select, ROCK >> ALLMAN BROS >> EAT A PEACH >> BLUE SKY - and it's done. With this Clarion deck, I'd probably spend 15 minutes punching "next folder" and still never find the song. It's useless. Obviously the people who did the firmware on this never used a USB drive.
