I doubt many Football Clubs possess such a well honed account of their Clubs fortunes.
Well Cock! ...as Harry Williams might be heard to say! Accomplished, informative and accessible. As someone previously untouched, or as some might venture, unscathed by the fortunes of lower league soccer. I now feel that I've bonded... every sliding tackle.. post match analysis and off pitch celebration or crisis.. all met as equals by the unfazed temperament of Harry Williams.I particularly enjoyed the Authors wander around the almost deserted streets of Rammy town centre... pursued by ghosts of R.U.F.C. history... nice touch I thought.Having absorbed a respectable 216 pages.. I feel that the Author has done the club justice.Harry should consider himself and the club, fortunate to have appointed such a dedicated and accomplished scribe.I doubt many Football Clubs possess such a well honed account their clubs fortunes over so many decades. It seems Harry still possesses that magical touch, of finding the right person for the job at the right time.Covid obviously blighted the Clubs accelerated potential in the later season.. but again, Harry's luck.. provides for a silver lining.. even within this current all encompassing catastrophe ... COME ON YOU RAMS! by Nigel Jepson.

Superb insight into a non league football club, a must!
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this superbly written account of the ups and downs of a non league football club in the North West of England since its formation by now Chairman Harry Williams back in 1966. A must for any discerning football fan and a down to earth insight into the founding and progress of the club over 50 years. Can't recommend this enough.

Get to know Ramsbottom United
Interested ex-pat reader. Jan 2021I thoroughly enjoyed ‘Come on you Rams’. It is well-balanced in its coverage of key personalities amongst managers and players. It also gives great insights into Ramsbottom history and links the team to the wider football community. A wonderful way to get to know Ramsbottom United! I strongly recommend it!
