Its work on 5v but the seller mentioned range of 6-36v

Not bad
There are other optical sensors which are available at low price at local shops. But this type of modelling we don't find. It speed of response is poor to measure RPM with a distance of 5cm. But for other linear motion applications it is the best at this cost.
