sleek, useful, sensitive, appears accurate.
beautiful scale, the face is easy to read, button easy to push. I love that it is so quick to set up and use. The numbers are actually large enough to read easily. Not too heavy for her arthritic hands. I've used it for letters and for measuring ingredients. I have had great use from the batteries. I pull them out between long inactiveness. appears accurate when I tested it, weighed different things that listed their wieghts.

Great scale, perfect for home use
very good scale, nothing fancy. Perfect size, too. Use it regularly, and it is very convenient, easy to clean, easy to store. Highly recommended.

Works well, but I prefer the Amazon Basics scale
I bought this to replace the Amazon Basics one I had for several years that got lost during our house move. I decided to “upgrade” to this one based on great ratings. It does indeed work well and I have no issues with it, but I prefer the Amazon Basics one because it has a larger weighing surface and because it is all one piece it is easier to wipe clean. So am taking one star off in comparison.

Excellent
I've been dieting--either to lose weight or maintain it--for the last several years. I count calories and, in order to that effectively, I weigh everything I eat. I have tried a number of digital food scales during this time, and this Escali is, hands down, my favorite. It has many virtues. It's accurate. It can weigh in grams, ounces or pounds+ounces at the push of a button and can switch between them while weighing. It has a large, easy to read LCD display. It can weigh up to 11 pounds. It has a generous auto-shutoff that resets its timer if the weight changes, so it will never cut off in the middle of weighing something. It can work with negative weight, so you can zero the scale with a container full of something and then remove the amount you want. It can measure to the nearest 0.05 ounce, so if you want 2 3/4 ounces, you can get 2.75 instead of 2.6 or 2.7 ounces like many other food scales. It runs on ordinary AA batteries and you can use rechargeables if you like. It is quite durable. Mine is 3 years old and going strong. I see that some folks are saying that you have to use small plates on the scale's platform so as not to block the readout, but I find that it's very easy to use a dinner plate and just slide it back until I can see the LCD. The Escali's weighing platform is large enough that the plate won't topple over. Another complaint I see here is that it's hard to turn off. That's "user error," I think. You turn it off by pressing and HOLDING the on/off button for a couple of seconds. It will turn off. However, if you've just zeroed the scale a second ago by pressing briefly on the on/off and then try this procedure, it won't. I think that's where the confusion comes from. The issue described in the number one review concerning the scale automatically resetting its zero-point if you add very small increments of weight very slowly after setting it to zero is correct. If I "tare" the scale and then keep adding one popcorn kernel every few seconds, I can sneak several grams of them on to the scale without it registering a weight change. In practice I've never found this to be a problem. Once the weight is non-zero, this no longer occurs. So, if you wanted to weigh out, say, 25 grams of popcorn, you would begin by pouring 10 or 15 grams worth on to the scale to start, and from there, you're fine. You can then add one kernel at a time (if you are very patient) and you'll eventually get to a completely accurate 25 grams. It cleans up well, but you can't wash it in the sink. It isn't waterproof and if you run water on the thing it will get into the electronics and it won't turn on anymore. However, I did this once and found that if I just let it sit and dry out for a few days, it came back to life, as good as always! Dieting is hard. The Escali is not. Highly recommended.

Great, affordable scale for accurate and consistent measurements
Great scale for someone who wants accuracy. I work in a lab where I use analytical balances every day, so I wanted a reliable, but affordable kitchen balance. This balance was much less expensive than other balances I was looking at (OXO), but works just as well if not better. I've had the scale for about two months. The features I like- 1) It easily switches between grams and oz (I use both regularly), 2) it measures and tares quickly. 3) Auto-off is longer than others (4 minutes), so it doesn't turn off in the middle of meal prepping. 4) It consistently measures the right amount (you can test this using known volumes and densities of items) and the same amount (extremely important for scales). Features I don't care for 1) It's lightweight and plastic (obviously for the price) which will affect its durability. You just have to be careful (as with any scale) not to bump it hard, lay something heavy on it, drop it, etc. as this will affect its calibration. 2) the 4-minute auto-off may cause the battery to die more quickly but I haven't had a problem yet. 3) I don't use lbs very much, so I wish it cycled first grams, then oz, then lbs/oz, but that's a small inconvenience. 4) If you have a large bowl/plate, it can be difficult to read the display. Side note, I read a review saying the tare wouldn't stay steady. It is absolutely normal for any balance I have ever used to shift slightly (even the several thousand dollar balances I use in lab). That being said, I have seen this very rarely on this scale, and it only fluctuates a gram or two if that.

Great Kitchen Scale, Great Manufacturer's Warranty!
I purchased this Escali digital food scale in 2015 and after 5 years of almost daily use, the scale would no longer display the weight in ounces, only Kg would display. I contacted the manufacturer directly and explained the problem. They immediately told me they would be sending me a new replacement scale. I received the new replacement in less than a week and no cost to me. The scale is working excellent as of Dec. 2025 and I am very pleased with the scale and the customer service of Escali. In the future, when any of my other kitchen gadgets and equiptment need to be replaced, I will be replacing them with Escali brand products Thank you Escali for your great warranty and customer service.

I have bought a couple of weighing scales and this has been the most robust, reliable and easy to use and easy to clean. It's a bit expensive but totally worth it.

Very accurate to the gram. Easy to use, tare button is very accessible. Small enough to store away in a drawer.

It is well made, accurate, light and compact for the capacity. Love it.

The scale is responsive and the measurements are accurate, and that is what matters most. It does not have any fancy usability features (no lit display, no support for large tare), but it also has a price tag that reflects as much. The scale should really be good enough for the vast majority of users. A couple of downsides for me were the absence of the fraction of a gram, which is not a huge deal and the fact that the platform may be not large enough to fit the tare on some rare occasions. Overall - a very good budget scale, recommended for common use scenarios.

I’m kind of a neurotic person, so when it came time to start tracking my food intake the neuroticism came out of the woodwork. I wanted to make sure that when I weighed my food I got accurate readings. I scoured all the reviews online and I bought (and returned) most of the reviewers top picks. That’s till I got my Escali Primo. First Impressions Damn this thing is ugly! Its plastic and it’s light, even cheap feeling....but don’t let any of this fool you. The Good This thing is lightning fast! It kept up with a pour which making getting specific amounts a breeze. Every other scale I’ve tried lag behind which makes pouring cereal a crap shoot. The Primo is also very accurate, giving me the same reading time and again no matter where I placed the weight on the platform. Though it’s made of plastic, it’s built tough, like that plastic Fisher-Price train you had as a kid that could take a fall from a 4 story balcony an not even get a scratch. It’s light but stays put on the countertop. Then there’s my favourite feature...the “click” when pressing a button so you know you pressed it. A lot of the scales I’ve owned you had to press the buttons “just right” for them to work. The screen isn’t backlite (bummer) but I’ve yet to have a hard time reading the display. The Bad Damn it’s ugly! In conclusion....don’t be fooled by the ugly, cheep plastic look. This is a serious food scale that makes tracking your nutrition less of a chore . It’s fast and accurate meaning you get your weighing done and out of the way faster and since it’s light and just the right size you can get it out of sight just as fast.
