The neck wrap was too small to work for what we wanted to use it. It does get cold but covers to small of an area.

These ice packs are so good. I left it on for the allotted time. Once I was ready to remove the ice pack, I noticed that it was stuck to my skin. I tried to pull the ice pack off and, it was that moment that I realized that it was actually frozen to my skin. I waited a few minutes for it to thaw out and I was able to remove it. The pain was gone but, now there was a bigger issue. The skin that the ice pack was resting on was frozen. Frozen solid, and hard as a rock. At this point, I was a little worried but, also relieved that I wasn’t in pain anymore. I decided to take a quick shower to warm up the area. When I got out, my skin was still frozen solid. Obviously, there was nothing else I could do aside from letting the area warm up naturally so I just put a blanket on. I kid you not, the next day I woke up and I had a really dark spot on the area where the ice pack was at. I started getting worried because I could feel the area but it felt like pins and needles. Days go by and the dark spot was still there, I went to the urgent care just to make sure I didn’t suffer from nerve damage. They ran tests and even gave me an ultra sound to check on my nerves. After all, the doctor determined that I had frostbite. He had never seen frostbite before because we live in Texas. Everyone at the urgent care was shocked and amazed. They could not believe that the dark spot was caused by an ice pack from Amazon. At the end of it all, the ice pack did work and I don’t have anymore pain but, I do have a $4,000 urgent care bill. 😂

Update: I have added a star to my review based on customer service. They sent me a message after my review offering a refund because of my experience. It was greatly appreciated. Once I froze this I tried it on. Disappointed. Hopefully you can see what I mean in my photos. -The neck is much smaller than it looks like it will be. My neck is quite thin, and that's for a women's neck. This doesn't even reach the sides of my neck. Also, the neck area just bunches up when it's put on, rather than laying against the neck. So, it's ineffective for that area unless you are laying down on your back, directly on it. The design has multiple flaws that I can see. Couldn't tell until I had it in person though. -1 issue is the weight balance. It ends up being heavier enough on the back than on the front that it easily slips backwards and the snap area just chokes around the neck. -Imo, the biggest design flaws (aside from the neck area being too small and not form fitting in any way) is the gel pocket type design. If they had simply created actual individual areas of gel it would have been great. Alternatively, if they had left it as one big area, like a standard gel ice pad, it also would've worked. The failure here is massive though. The entire pad is connected, while having areas that cut off the flow of gel (as seen in the photos) that make it looks like individual pockets inside. The cut off areas stop and leave open gaps at the top and bottom of each. What this does to the pad is causes area where there is almost no gel inside, and areas where there is so much it feels hard. You have to physically manipulate each area to push gel from 1 spot to another. This is not only very difficult to do, bur still doesn't work well enough. Example: 1 of the areas in front of the shoulder on my pad has no gel inside. The other side has so much it feels overfull and hard. Fixing this required me to start at the full end and push gel from 1 area into another, over and over. It was impossible for me to balance how much was in every pocket until I got to the other side. Not to mention that my hands hurt from trying! This problem was the 1st one I noticed upon looking at the product once I opened it. I noticed there was no gel in the neck. I manipulated the gel from the center back area up into the neck areas. The neck "pockets" are quite small, and that made it really hard for the gel to stay inside them. It kept moving out of them and back into the lower, larger back pockets. Very irritating. I got this because I needed something fast, and this was the quickest way I could. I have been having migraines, due to severe spinal deterioration in my cervical spine, and have severe inflammation in my entire upper back, shoulder, chest, neck area. If I send this back, I won't have a choice but to wait for a refund before I could try another, and that process would take a while. I need something at least for my back and shoulders asap, so I'm going to be keeping this. However, the next time I have the extra money to purchase something like this again, I will be looking for something different. Now that I know exactly what the problems this pad has are, I will know what to look for in a product in the future. That's the upside. :) Reasons YOU may want to buy this one: If you only need this for laying on top of, or only for shoulders and upper back area, it should work just fine. The soft fabric side is quite plush, but you can still feel the cool through it. The length at the middle of the back of the pad came down to almost lower shoulder blade area on me (I'm 5'7"). So it covers a decent amount of the upper back. And covered the entirety of the tops of my shoulders, and down to a good length in front (for irritated upper chest muscles).

Comfy to wear as a collar, especially on a hot day! The gel makes it easy to mold the collar to the shape of neck & shoulder area. Stays cold for as long as you need. This is the best product of its type (as in gel ice packs) I’ve ever purchased. The cloth underside makes it comfy against the skin. Brilliant product!
