IP66 External/Outdoor Waterproof Junction Box (86x86x50mm +Connectors)

I recently purchased this IP66 Outdoor External Junction Box for a backyard lighting project, and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality and performance.Build Quality:The enclosure is made of tough, durable plastic that feels solid and reliable. The seal around the lid is thick and secure, ensuring a tight, weatherproof fit. The screws are rust-resistant and easy to tighten, and the hinged lid is a great feature for convenient access.Weather Resistance:We’ve had several heavy rains and even a bit of snow since installing this, and the inside has remained completely dry. The IP66 rating really holds up – perfect for protecting connections in harsh outdoor environments.Ease of Installation:Pre-drilled mounting holes and plenty of space inside made it easy to install and wire. I had room for multiple cables and even a small terminal block without it feeling cramped. The knockouts on the sides were easy to remove cleanly with a hole saw.Versatility:I used it for outdoor lighting, but it would be equally useful for CCTV systems, garden projects, or any other low-voltage outdoor wiring. It has a professional look and feels very secure once mounted.Final Verdict:If you're looking for a solid, waterproof, and easy-to-use external junction box, this one is a winner. Ideal and so simple to install

"Fitted with flexible waterproof membrane... Just push your cable through" appears to be an overstatement. I would still recommend to drill undersized holes through these membranes and have this junction box oriented such that the wires entrance points are at the bottom, so this junction box is a bit overpriced. Otherwise, it is of excellent quality and easy to use.

I have these around my Barrel Pond (photo shows all three) and there is enough space inside for 2 or 3 cables (as long as we're not talking about bulky 2.5mm mains cable).Many entry points, but I would recommend to fit 20mm glands to ensure water tightness. If I recall I did not use any included connectors but used good quality Wag-style connectors, as they are super easy to fit and use.Anyway, several months on and they remain securely mounted and watertight, which is what counts.

It didn’t have a side slot to put wires in had to cut the side so wires could just slot in

Slightly flimsy (to my 50 year old mind) but definitely seems to do the job. Get the right sized screw drivers into the external plates (open on receipt, by the way) and don't chew the up like... Someone I may hae heard talking about them.... Did.Two screws to hold the little bracket and steady as you like on the wall. Looks well.

Good product and super easy to attach 20mm glands. The wall fixing that you push the box into isn’t that great, so recommend using screws, which can be used through the holes where the cover plate locking fixings are.
