Great replacement for old power outlets
This was very easy to install in my truck just two wires. Works great and I like that it has its own power button. I had to dremel the opening just a tiny bit to make this new plug fit but it was less than a minute to get the right width.

Excited to try this quick charger, but I was quickly disappointed
I installed this usb quick charger and volt meter in my boat. I was excited to try it out because it had a power button so I didn’t have to worry about it drawing voltage when not in use. Great options of an on/off switch and the voltmeter. Now for the bad. I have a new marine batter and connected the quick charger to it, press the power button and the voltmeter read 7.6 volts. I then grab my Fluke multimeter and connect it to the new battery. Fluke says it’s 12.8 volts. So now I try to charge my iPhone with a known good charging cable. Nope. Not happening. I had high hopes for this but it has let me down and is a huge disappointment. Update!!!!! 07/10/22 after reading my review the company contacted me and sent out a new unit. I got it installed and it worked appropriately!!! The quick charger charges my phone and it displays the voltage correctly, 12.8 bolts, which is what my digital multimeter shows the battery’s voltage to be 12.8. I’d definitely buy from the seller again. Great customer service!!!

Easy to install, but I would only recommend, conditionally. I'll explain.
I installed this in my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I replaced the 12v socket on the center dash beneath the A/C mode selector. This 12v socket is only powered with the ignition key.Installation was easy. Just search YouTube for how to disassemble the dashboard for access to the socket. In my Jeep the socket only had two wires running to it, a black with white stripe and a purplish color.1. I unplugged the wires from the socket and cut the wires right at the plastic plug to give me the most wire to work with.2. I cut the wires on the provided plugs to about 4 inches in length, removing the fuse portion (which is not needed in this case).3. I butt-spliced the red to the purplish and the black to the black with white stripe.4. I used a Dremel sanding drum to very slightly expand the hole the socket was in to accommodate the new device.5. I installed the new receptacle where the socket was in the dash, being careful to line everything up before tightening.6. Before reassembling everything, I turned on the ignition to verify everything was good to go.7. It powered and reported a little more than 14v with the Jeep running.8. I reassembled the dash.It works great and the power as can be seen charging an iPhone 12 using the apple cord. My primary use is to power a wireless charger that mechanically opens and closes using the power through the USB port. The following is why i give it 4 stars instead of 5:Every time I turn off the ignition the power goes off as expected, but when I restart the ignition, the power stays off. I am required to push the power button each time I get in. It does not end there. I also have to unplug my charger and reinsert the plug, in order for it to power the mechanical holder.I do not recommend this plug for this use, but I would recommend this plug for a socket that is always on, because of the on off feature. IMO the power button limits the use. I will not return it as I will repurpose it to replace an always-on 12v socket.

Great for motorcycles
Installed this on my BMW R1200ST and it works great. Love that I can turn it on and off with the push button. Also like that the voltage meter can be read when the water/debris cover is in place. Great to have the meter since my bike doesn’t come stock with a voltage meter. It allows me to quickly tell the health of my battery after my bike has been sitting for several weeks. Charges my phone well

Voltage reading and turbo charging.
Got tired of always plugging my USB cigarette lighter adapter in my Chevy HHR. Wanted something more flush and permanent that also looks factory installed. I wired it to a separate fuse that shuts off when you exit your vehicle, (although I didn't need to since it has its own off button). I removed my cigarette lighter plug and replaced it with this unit. Had to do some filing around the hole to make it fit snug. The extra added feature lets me know the condition of my battery. Easy to install, works great and looks cool.

Easy, Cheap upgrade and you can keep an eye on your battery at any time
I put this on my boat because who uses lighter end cords anymore? Everything is USB. The value this adds to my boating experience is I can easily see/check what the battery is putting out before draining the battery completely. Nothing has to be connected to it to check the battery and you can click it on and off. NICE! Did I have battery problems before? Not really, but this is another additional safety measure I can upgrade on the boat and take notice if the readings are below a certain level (IE start the motor, cruise the lake and charge the battery back up). It's basically plug and play replacement and you don't have that old style lighter type anymore. totally recommend this as a value added upgrade to any boat or even vehicle.

Fitted to Kawasaki Versys 650 (2016)
I bought this to add a USB charging port to my Kawasaki Versys 650 (2016) motorcycle. There is an existing (pre-cut) hole on the dash - reading on-line it is 28mm. Most USB chargers seem to be 30mm. I purchased several hoping one would fit. None of the others would fit. This one has a metal (aluminum) body. I don't know if it is also a little smaller, but I found I could "screw" it into the hole all the way.Seems very well made. Might update my review after lots of use.I had to remove the existing connectors to fit bullet connectors compatible with the motorcycle wiring.NOTE: You also need to purchase a relay to connect into the existing bike electronics. There are lots of video on how to do this.
