Good resource for parents
Raising teenagers in today's world is a challenge for any parent. Social media, access to a variety of potential online distractions, not to mention video games and concerns about bullying can baffle any parent. This book provides access to questionnaires for parents and teens, especially those with attentional and executive problems. The surveys can reveal possible areas requiring parental guidance and control. But, to me, the best part of the book is the direction it provides for parents on approaches to discipline without being preachy or condescending to parents.

Great Book, definitely recommend
I originally purchased this book to help me with my son with Asperger's, but very quickly realized it was about my oldest daughter. She had the same memory and executive skill weaknesses my youngest son with Asperger's showed. She was later diagnosed with dsylexia which definitely causes short term memory loss, inability to multitask, and frustrating answer's such as "I forgot". I recommend this book for any parent raising kids of any kind because all of mine exhibit some or all of the the behaviors. Some kids are forgetful by nature others by choice, but this book is a great read to work with all kinds of kids regardless his/her weakness. i still pick this book up and glance through the pages I've marked as a refresher.

Helpful for my 12 going on 13 yr old girl
This book is a great resource for middle school kid parents. My child is 7 th grade. I guess I could have started last year but we were in the midst of pandemic and most of schools were shut. So this year, Now that my daughter is back to school, I have a time to read and really focus on skills she needs. It helps identify my EXecutive function skills vs my teen. It is a great book to identify the problems and giving strategies as well. Highly recommend for parents who have no idea how to help teen w organizational problems

Highly recommended!!
An excellent reference. I read the entire book through, completed the quizzes. I have had a few talks about executive skills with my daughter, but after about 5 minutes, I can see her eyes glaze over, and know that all she's hearing is BLAH BLAH BLAH (if I could just get to my phone...) BLAH BLAH BLAH. Finally, I just gave her the book and told her what to read. Thankfully, she loves quizzes and checklists, so when she took the ones in the book, everything I had been saying suddenly became crystal clear. When she scored those quizzes, she could see exactly where her strengths and weaknesses are. For a teen, the ability to step back and take an objective look at your own behaviour is a huge step! We now have a broader, more objective picture of her abilities, and from there we can work out a plan. That is the next hurdle. I recommend using this book as a tool to empower your teen and open up a dialogue about working with your own strengths and weaknesses. It has been a great help for us.

Great Resource!
I worked in a trauma-informed setting with high school students for two school years. I needed something in addition to what the school offered in the way of training and faculty support. Being left on my own to figure it out, I searched and read lots of reviews. This book and its companion rose to the top of my purchase list. I have yet to be disappointed in either of these selections.

This has been very helpful since we had a late diagnosis of ADHD for our son since we had very little support from the local authority and absolutely no support from his school who just wanted to expel him.

A book which has been hyped greatly, but just seems a bit scattered itself. The examples and scenarios described are somewhat old-fashioned and not all plausible, and for the most part, no real solutions are offered . To be fair I have not yet read the book cover to cover , but I did read at least half of it, and was not completely happy . Not really what I was hoping for. I looked up the authors' blog, and it was seen to be sadly neglected by them. I feel these authors need to update themselves to teen issues of the present day.
