I thought they opened up to a larger rag. Prefer the ones that open up

I got these tack cloths to pick up saw dust from wood projects before I finish them. Saw dust on the surface can leave a gritty feel to the finish and can also bleed color into the wood, so it is important to remove the saw dust.These tack cloths work very well; they are very sticky without being overly sticky where they might leave a residue on the wood. The one thing I wish they would change is the packaging - the easy tear mark on the plastic packaging is about two-thirds the way down on the bag and once you open it, the bag is useless because it is torn near the middle of the bag. Most of the time, I like to reuse my tack cloth many times before I have to replace it, so it would be nice to have a bag that isn't mangled once I open it. Other brands that I have used tear at the top so the tack cloth can be placed back in the bag for later use.

I have used this brand before, I like the value pack. They work really well when painting wood or metal.As we know, preparation is key when painting, after all the sanding I like to blow things off with compressed air, but because things settle and there could be a tiny spec you don't see until you paint it...I like to give things a final wipe with one of these just before painting. It really helps make sure there's nothing stuck anywhere. I haven't ever noticed any residue either, some other brands have left minor spots of wax like residue you don't notice until the paint hits it, very frustrating. Large size is great for car panels or table tops. I would recommend these to anyone who takes their painting serious, saves a lot of time in the long run.
