More of the Same, With a Few Extras
This isn't really a sequel... at least, it doesn't feel like it. This and Serious Sam: The First Encounter feel like they were one game that got split in half.Nothing wrong with that - everything you liked in the First is here in the Second, and more. New types of enemies (the Zorgs are complete wimps... but Cucurbito the Pumpkin looks like a cross between Pumpkinhead and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre ). New weapons (Chainsaw, Flamethrower, Serious Bomb, etc). New environments (sort of).Sam didn't make it... he was in the Sirian spaceship, headed for Mental's HQ, when the CroTeam developers (they do have a wicked sense of humor) crashed into the ship - Sam landed in South America. Now he's got to tear through ancient Mayan ruins, then through ancient Babylon, etc.You don't need a more powerful graphics card, you don't need a bigger computer... this will run on the same machine that ran the First. If you liked "The First Encounter" then you'll love the Second - it's more of the same, with a few new toys tossed in. Grab this - you won't be disappointed.

it's too much like the first game, and just one of these games is enough for me
The seller was FAST SHIPPED. I paid 4 bucks. It worked fine on my PC running Windows XP Home SP3.Although I liked Serious Sam: The First Encounter , I did not like the Second Encounter. I stopped playing after an hour or so. It's just too much like the first game. For me, one mindless run-and-gun game is enough.Visit my Amazon wish lists to see my 4-star and 5-star PC games:http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/BEYS4KHZTP24/http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/35VC2S12P5A8R/

The graphics alone are worth owning this game!
Best FPS ever! Even after 10 years, it's still a lot of fun. The graphics are simply amazing and 10x better than any I've seen to date on any other game, on any platform.

I much prefer TFE, but this game is still good
Most of the pros of the first game applies here, it's a hella fun FPS where you don't necessarily use cover, but instead go in the middle of enemy fire and you use a very versatile arsenal. But, I noticed that, since you get a sniper rifle this time around, there's a much bigger emphasis on long range combat than TFE, which is fine on paper, but a common problem I encountered is that Croteam loved putting Aludran Reptiloids and Fiendian Reptiloid Demon on faraway places, which is easier said than done to spot when they are hiding behind trees with ridiculously big hitboxes, so my shots were being blocked by the greenery to top it all off. This cranks up the difficulty for better or for worse, and I believe that's kind of why there wasn't a sniper rifle readily available in SS3: BFE.But as I've said, it's still Serious Sam, it's fun defeating huge waves of bloodthirsty enemies. The levels are fewer, but much bigger than those found in TFE, with refreshing themes like Mayan temples and Persia, and while I may have not liked the focus on the Sniper Rifle, there are a few new weapons, giving you tons more ways to dispatch enemies.Again, not my favorite, but I had my fun.
