This a great subwoofer for a small to medium room
This a great subwoofer for a small to medium room. It's unobtrusive and could be doubled up without taking up too much floor space. I was worried it was underpowered but upon hooking it up it sounds great. It takes some tweaking of the volume and low pass (I have both set at about 1/3 of the way up). JBL quality and style as always.

Perfect!
Sound, price, quality is excellent. I've never been disappointed with JBL. Sound is fantastic, matched to my JBL bookshelf speakers. Running through my Onkyo stereo receiver, I especially like the adj output.

This Sub woofer delivers good deep bass and it is very powerful for its size. Good buy overall.

Buy at your own risk!
Power is on. Volume is up. Subwoofer cable is plugged in subwoofer input and the other end in the receiver subwoofer output. But it won't work. Doesn't produce any sound. The top two clips for the front cover are also broken. Took a long time for me to get this and I don't know how to return it because I live in the Philippines. I bought the subwoofer cable from Amazon as well. The brand is Sewell. I don't think the cable is the problem because the red light indicator of the sub turns blue when it detects a signal.

It is good enough for now
It is good enough for now. It does not have the low punch I was looking for. I am a DJ. I will be searching for better quality next time. Perhaps spending a little more could do the trick.

JBL always gets the job done, fabulously.
JBL never disappoints, this model has great style too, and in white! it's on the far right in the pictures below. Door removed so it doesn't rattle with the bass, but you can leave it closed if you must. A shame to alter it's over all 'sound' by doing so. Just leave it shut when NOT using it i'd say, in this type of install.

Excellent replacement for subs in smaller systems
While this is not a very powerful subwoofer, it does a great job in the smaller system in my bedroom. The power rating is 100 watts, and that is enough for smaller setups, but it won't cut it for larger systems. The sound is fairly tight and punchy for a smaller sub, so I think that most people will find this to be a good sub for their needs. There is no XLR input, so you will not be able to connect balanced sources to the sub. Once again, this subwoofer is not meant for higher-end installations, so the standard RCA input is what most will want. The sub comes with a set of carpet spikes to help it couple with the floor under the carpet to keep it stable. The sound can be tailored with a variable crossover point, so you can roll your main speakers off in your processor and then overlap with the crossover point in the sub to cover the lower ranges, leaving your main speakers to worry with the ranges above your subwoofer crossover point. The class-D amplifier in the sub is quite responsive and tracks fast, as digital switching amplifiers are known for in general. This helps bring the cone back quickly and allows for tighter control of extrusion. The power output of this amplifier is more than adequate for the system in my bedroom and a smaller system in the library. I find the sound of this sub to be superior to the pioneer sub that came with the inexpensive system in the library, so it will remain in place there instead of my bedroom. My main listening system is comprised of the following:Sunfire True Sub Signature (2700 watts) subwoofer.Definitive Technology BP-3000TL main speakers (each with an 18" 1000-watt subwoofer).Definitive Technology CLR-3000 center speaker (with a 150-watt subwoofer).Definitive Technology BPVX/P surrounds (with 150-watt subs in each).Emotiva XMC-1 Gen 2.Enlightened Audio Designs PowerMaster 2000 amplifier (450 watts per channel).I put the JBL sub in place to test it in my normal listening environment and it did okay at low volumes, but it bottomed out and didn't work well when approaching reference levels. I didn't find the sound to be bad at all at lower volumes, but it just cannot keep up with the other equipment in higher-volume applications.Review system 2 (bedroom):Pioneer VSX-1020-K (receiver)Polk Audio RM705 (5.1 channel system)I put the JBL sub in place and it sounded MUCH better than the Polk sub. The sound is far less boomy and just plain smoother. The power output of the JBL sub is greater than the Polk, and it does a far better job of reproducing the low end without becoming boomy. DEFINITELY recommended as a replacement in this type of system.Review system 3 (library):Pioneer HTP-072 (home theater in a box). The JBL sub absolutely destroyed the Pioneer, and is going to replace this sub. My wife and kids are always watching movies and television downstairs in the library, so I think that it is only fair that they get the benefit. The sound is FAR better, smoother, less boomy, and powerful.
