Great confidence in Renaissance Wax
I'm fairly new to this product for I've used other unforgiving products for refinishing wood stocks. I'm very pleased with the ease of application and results. Based on initial application, found it applies and removes very easily. It is also much easier to remove from checkering w/ toothbrush or preferably a soft horsehair brush... remarkably, a low luster sheen revealed within checkering. Based on Renaissance Wax long history, finish will never yellow. I'm confident it also perfectly protects ferrous metal finish for it is PH neutral. It provides plenty of working time and ease to remove and buff!

Renaissance Wax is easy to use and really works.
I have been using Renaissance Wax for years and it is quite versatile. I use it on my blued firearms and it protects them from corrosion and makes them look amazing. I also use it after polishing silver to keep it protected much longer. A little goes a long way so even this small container can last a very long time.

Good wax polish, even with watches.
This wax polish seems to do a good job and the jar of wax will last for awhile, But has a extremely strong smell. Work in a well ventalated area would be helpful. I use mostly on my watches.

Cool Wax
I modified some old brass lights and gave them some forced patina, I wasn't exactly sure what I should do to protect the surface after, clear coat? Oil? Wax? I stumbled upon this Ren wax after some online searching, but was skeptical about its effectiveness for my application. I came here to say I am more than pleased with the results, it darkened the colors a bit, and removed the "dry" look from the patina, while still leaving the mottled tarnished bluish coloring. The lights are on the ceiling of an outdoor patio, so time will tell how well this stuff protects. I know it's meant more for indoor items but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I was also worried such a small amount would not be enough; turns out I barely made a dent in the container, I now have plenty more to try on other projects!

Worth the price
I bought this product in an effort to preserve my '30s vintage Victor jack plane. I had been using paste wax to keep the rust away up till now, and have been mostly successful. The problem is, I use that plane frequently, averaging several times a week. I simply wear the wax off the tool in use. I applied the Renaissance Wax ( and I believe the polish is a misprint, this wax has no abrasive action that I can detect ) and was met with several surprises. First, the Ren Wax lifted the paste wax from the wooden handles. I had to constantly move my finger in the application rag because my fingertip would get clogged with paste wax that was being removed. Once the paste wax was removed, and the new Ren Wax applied, the buff rewarded me with nearly new looking handles. I was astonished at how beautiful the handles were, especially since I've owned the plane for years and never noticed. With the handles looking new, I moved on to the base. Again, the application of Ren Wax would remove the paste wax that was embedded in the cast iron body. After some time working a spot, the metal would be visibly cleaner and brighter than the surrounding metal. It took some time to wax the body, but in the end, the tool looks almost new. Inspired by success, I disassembled the plane completely, cleaned and waxed everything, including the screws ( the brass screws in the handles are particularly stunning now ). I simply cannot believe it's the same tool. I then waxed all my wood chisels, power tools, and workbench top. Sawdust no longer sticks to the tools now, and the finish appears to be much more durable than the paste wax ever was. I'll get around to waxing the table saw top, but that will be an all day project. In summary, I have tested this product on the following materials with outstanding results: Finished and unfinished wood Cast iron Tool steel Steel Stainless steel Chrome plating Brass Aluminum Plastic Rubber Leather Painted surfaces ( probably enamel ) I have found no issues with the product. Some complain about the scent, I found it to be much less invasive than paste wax, although I was in the garage with the doors open. It is true that you need to use the tiniest speck of wax you can get. I found that you wrap you application rag around your finger, and merely touch the surface of the wax, that's plenty. Two of those doses is enough to get complete coverage on a 2.75 inch by 12 inch plane base. The majority of time spent was cleaning the old wax/oil/grease from the tools. The time required for the application of wax and buff were insignificant overall. Other waxes "haze" but this one doesn't appear to work that way. It seems that you simply apply the wax, grab your buff rag and buff it. No waiting. To be honest, I was skeptical about the marketing hype, about how this product can be used on "everything" with no drawbacks. However, in practice, it appears to work exactly that way. I couldn't find anything that didn't benefit from a coat of Ren Wax.

I am using it for preserving coins and carbon steel knives. It is non-messy and each application requires only a tiny amount. Way better than oil.
