Important Safety Item Every Winch Owner Should Install
This WARN Power Interrupt Kit was purchased to install in a 2021 Jeep JLU in preparation for installing a WARN Zeon 12 winch. It was a bit of a project - but well worth the time. This kit allows you to use a switch inside the cabin to power your winch - rather than having power running to your winch all the time. This is important for several reasons; if you're in a front-end collision there's no high-amp live line vulnerable to cause fires or other problems compounding the accident. It also prevents bad actors from messing with your winch by not enabling power to the winch without first gaining access to inside the Jeep (you still need the winch's remote control to operate the winch). During research several calls to WARN confirmed this to be the right kit for intended use. The most difficult part of installing this kit is figuring out where - and how - to mount the solenoid in the already crowded engine bay. A sturdy, steel bracket was purchased (also off Amazon) and modified to mount firmly, creating a solid platform for the substantial solenoid. The bracket was coated with several coats of FlexSeal after drilling the appropriate mounting holes. Once the FlexSeal dried it was riv-nutted using one existing hole, and drilling one new hole in the fender well. Once the bracket/solenoid are mounted, running wires is easy. If you have the Aux Switch package (from factory), wires are stubbed out on passenger side engine bay. If you don't have the Aux Switch Package from factory, the kit provides a switch with appropriate gauge wiring. Make sure to disconnect both negative battery cables (from main and auxiliary battery) before doing any wiring. The kit also includes 4 rubberized boots to slip over the terminal connections. They take a little work to massage into place (remember to slip them onto the wire before fastening to the solenoid) - but a heat gun helped soften them up enough to re-form snugly around the nuts. Fiberglass heat shielding (also from Amazon) was used to further protect the heavy-gauge positive (and negative) wires, then wrapped in friction tape at the ends to secure. Anyone who runs an electric winch on front of their vehicle should have something like this installed for safety, and peace of mind. Some guys piece together different bits to save money. I bought this kit - even though I didn't use the switch - because I knew everything was rated to properly work together, eliminating any variables. WARN is a solid company who's been around a long time and really knows their stuff. I can highly recommend this WARN Power Interrupt Kit.

I've got the power!
I bought this to put my badlands winch on my Jeep factory auxiliary switches. Worked great and gives me peach of mind to not have power running to the winch nonstop.

Great product!
Installed on my jlur hooked up to Aux 4(only available if you got the tow package or had it installed separately). Would work fine with SPOD or other switch products. Hefty product. I mounted the solenoid on a piece of angle iron which will conveniently be in place later for more additions. I ran the ground wire to one of the ground nuts conveniently located to the left of the battery from the front. Highly recommend you have a terminal kit handy as some of these wires are ridiculously long and don't need to be. For prettiness and safety, do yourself a favor and shorten the ground wire and the switch wire.

Simple install
When I installed my winch (WARN VR EVO 12-S) I was concerned about the potential for a short to occur in the event I was ever in a front end collision. There is also the (very remote) possibility of someone who knows what they are doing messing around with the winch if it was always powered, so I wanted to add a power disconnect. After spending WAY too much time trying to find the best solenoid to use based on max current draw and duty cycle I decided to just buy the kit that WARN sells. I did not use the supplied toggle switch since I wired it to one of the factory AUX switches, but I did use a portion of the harness for make the required connections. I haven't used it with any real large load yet, but have tested it with some smaller loads and it works as expected.

Solid piece of mind
Installed easily and now I have a way to shut-off power to my winch. I wired this to a switch pod in my Jeep so I did not have a need for the wiring harness ( so I cannot speak to how the wiring kit would have worked). I have not tried it with a load yet, I will update when I do. I used the Apollotech switch pod and it came with the switch over.

Safety first!
No matter what type of winch you have, put this on your rig. Those are big cables that run out to the front of your vehicle. If you have an accident and they short, it is going to cause your day to get even worse. This switch will turn off the power to your winch until you need it. The kit has everything you need. Just find a spot near your battery. Connect the supplied power cable to one side of the switch and to your positive terminal on your batter, then connect your winch to the other side. Wire in the switch... and bingo, bango, bongo... you're all set. For an even easier installation... use the Apollointech Jeep Wrangler JK & JKU 2009-2017 Overhead 6-Switch Pod / Panel with Control and Source System Green Back Light ( Comes with 10 Laser Switch Covers )

Don't have your winch on continuous power all the time
I used this to being able to control the power to my winch. Instead of using the included switch I did connect the switch part to my Voswitch panel which I can control from inside the car. This turns on the power to the winch and cuts if off when I want to. It works great! I wish there would be multiple different mounting brackets available for this unit though.

It is easy to install and it works.
It cost way too much money for what it is. The relay is the only thing really usable. The switch is trash and I'm sure that anyone installing this kit would prefer a switch that looks and functions well. The wiring that came with it is just that, wiring. Do your self a favor, just order the relay.

Easy to install. Protect the winch and câbles. Avoid to stay constantly on power. Avoid short and « wiring fire ».

Installed this with an auxiliary switch kit from Mopar ( did not use the supplied switch from Warn), to isolate the power to the winch. Install was approximately 1 hour.
