I was really impressed upon receiving these. I noticed I had an extra plastic cover and thought there must be a mistake but continued to unwrap the shakers and set the cover aside as I did so. I loved the size and weight of the shakers and thought they were a great upgrade from my mother's old shakers I'd been using for years. The quality is so much better than I had expected. The hole openings make these very versatile for use with many more spices than just salt and pepper. They hold the perfect amount of spice and function quite well as a salt shaker as well. They shine beautifully and the fact they come with a cover to keep moisture out is a great benefit and bonus. These are quality shakers that I believe will last a long time. One of the lids had a small cut that didn't go all the way through the plastic but was enough that I guess the company thought they should include an extra plastic lid. I really admire that. I will continue to purchase Herb Shakers and other products from this company. They have gained my trust for sure!

Nothing fancy, but functional. I bought these to contain flours that I use in cooking and baking. It's a nice way to get a thin coating of flour on things like chicken thighs and fish. I also use it to flour loaves of bread before letting them rise and before scoring them to produce decorative patterns. Perhaps not what the manufacturer intended, but very useful, and you don't waste as much flour as you do when dredging things. Appreciate that they have plastic covers to avoid spills if they get knocked over. It's not a hermetic seal by any means, but better than no seal at all.

I use these for popcorn salt. Excellent shakers, best I have ever used.
