Sena 10S-01 Motorcycle Bluetooth Headset Communication System (Discontinued)

The latest in the Sena arsenal of high end motorcycle communications systems. Easy to install in my helmet. I have a Shoei Qwest and the entire installation, because I am meticulous in my methods, took 30 minutes. Very well made. Phone calls are clear on either end. Music sounds great, a nice upgrade from the SMH10 model. I like the option of having both mics included in the kit. Very well made, feels solid. Dial is easy to access with your gloves on, and simple to use. I like simplicity when I'm riding my motorcycle, BMW R1100RS. FM radio option is a kick, though I doubt I'll use it much over my own playlists, but it will be nice to have when I'm camping on weekend rides and want to catch up on the news. This unit is just a great culmination of years of experience and research. I recommend Sena over any other systems. UPDATE: I've taken this on rides now that the weather gave me the opportunity. And the sound quality is great. music is a bit low for my taste, but then again, you want be alert when riding a motorcycle, so that works fine. but the phone calls are clearer then my bluetooth in my car! I called family members while riding at 40-60 mph with a full face Shoei helmet. With the faceshield down, they could hear me as clearly as if I was in the next room. No background noise at all, clear speech, and perfect volume. You just have to remember not to SHOUT into the mic, just speak normally and that is enough. With the faceshield open at 60 mph, they could hear a little but of wind noise on my end, but not enough to be distracting or prevent them from understanding my every word. Truly a great product, well worth the cost. I did alot of research before finally buying one. Saw tons of people complaining about the sound n for the price was very uncertain about it. Once I caved in n got it, wow highly recommended now!!. The size n weight of it is small n very lightweight overall. Install was simple enough but took the time to make sure it was done correctly n placed where I liked it. Once done I updated it n then sat there messing with it to better understand the buttons n lay out. It was easy to learn n figure out. Sound wise, I don't know how tone deaf people are when they say its too low n all that. With your phone volume up n the units volume up its very loud. I love loud music n at times have to turn it down because of my ears are ringing. Lol. Make sure you place it above the helmet pads or it wont sound right , because I think thats alot of peoples problems. Overall the functions on it are great, the fm feature is cool as well as the music on your phone. And same with the music sharing also. Making calls is easy n they never know that your on a bike doing 65mph. You can even text back if you have the patience for it lol. The battery life is incredible, used it all month long and still haven't recharged it yet lol. I highly recommend this for anyone that wants to receive calls, listen to music or chat with riders on long rides. Its definitely worth the money.

Wanted this unit mainly so I can use my phone's GPS function on rides. Not that interested in talking on the phone (typically, that's what I'm trying to get away from when I ride) but I can see where it could come in handy. Also thought the FM radio feature would be nice - maybe checking on traffic, etc. THE BAD If you're main interest in this unit is listening to FM Radio while getting GPS navigation from your phone - you will likely be disappointed. As another reviewer pointed out, the FM radio is higher on the priority list than your phone's music/GPS. On my initial ride with this unit I had the radio on while using my phone's GPS. Didn't hear a single direction until the end of my ride when I realized the FM was still on (more on this) and I turned it off. I don't understand this rationale from Sena but it's pretty clearly stated in their manual. Next, I was only able to pick up a few FM stations throughout my ride and even they disappeared as I got farther from the city. At one point, I realized that I had not turned off the FM as I thought I did and was just unable to hear the static (freeway noise + ear plugs). Not surprising given that there's no real antenna but still, makes me think that listening to FM on this shouldn't be at the top of your priority list for buying this unit. I kind of wished they'd included an AM option so I could at least pick up something. The unit seems very stable on my helmet when fully clicked in but I worry that an errant tug on the locking tab might cause the unit to come loose and go bye-bye. I wish the locking mechanism were a little more secure. THE GOOD -- FM -- On the brighter side regarding FM - it does have a scanning feature and the ability to program stations in via the mobile app. -- Sound -- Experimenting with the phone capability around town, it's crisp and clear (even with ear plugs in) and people I spoke with had no trouble hearing me or me them. At freeway speeds (75+) it wasn't quite as clear although the other end seemed to hear me okay. I did not listen to music but the GPS instructions were pretty clear (after turning off the FM). -- Controls -- I have an iphone and a simple press of a button engaged Siri so I was able to make a call easily. The rest is hit/miss but hopefully will get easier with more practice. The audible vox prompts are nice and help clue you in when you messed up a button push. -- Installation -- Installation was pretty straightforward and the longest part of the process was tucking the wires in. I have not tried out the intercom but given how the rest of the operation went, don't foresee a problem. Overall I think this is a good unit and will serve one well if they are mainly interested in phone/GPS/intercom. But if FM is big priority, might want to investigate other avenues. Update - tried the music option which makes a fun ride even better. With ear plugs in I could hear the music on the freeway but it was muted. However, there's a "audio boost" function (off by default) that's available using the Sena app and once that's on, I could hear music & phone calls much better. I guess the drawback is loss of fidelity but on the freeway & with earplugs in, I didn't notice anything. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product.

Gran calidad de sonido en la música y las llamadas son muy claras incluso con el ruido de mi harley puedo tener una llamada sin problemas, la aplicación es muy intuitiva y con muchas opciones de configuración.

Oui... Parfait... J'avais juste avant un système CARDO Freecom 4 JBL que j'ai gardé 10 jours avant que celui ne soit perdu sur l'autoroute car il n'a qu'une fixation légère. Le son était mieux sur le Freecom 4 JBL mais maintenant que j'ai le Sena 10S, il est toujours sur mon casque et certes le son est légèrement moins bon mais reste très correcte. Il y a un seul vrai soucis de conception qui est une prise au vent ce qui rajoute du bruit en roulant.
