Q: Works great fully submerged horizontally. My concern is when I went to move it, it burnt me. Anyone had trouble with snails or fish getting burned? Is this normal for heaters?

I'd say it is normal for heaters when the wires heat up they transfer their heat to the glass. The more it works, the hotter it gets. I haven't been burnt by mine nor have I seen any ill effects on snails or fish. I always unplug mine whenever I anticipate doing anything that will affect it -- water changes or moving it. I just have to remember to plug it back in! LOL Another reason for unplugging it is that you don't want to subject the glass to sudden temperature changes. Also, if you do remove it from the water, when you do put it back in wait about 10 minutes before plugging it in for two reasons, first possible temperature shock but also because you want it to get its thermostat to the water temperature of the aquarium so that when you do plug it in, it will either heat up or remain off if the tank is warmer than your setting on it.

Q: can i set a temperature to a certain degree ( that I want my tank to be ) and will it maintain for me ? or do i have to keep turning it on and off?

you can set temp where u want it at and leave it..whenever it reaches that temp the heater will turn off and back on when it needs to reach the temp that you set it for......basically...set it and leave it.

Q: Which size should I get for my tank? It's a 10 gallon tank. the 50 watt or the 100 watt?

The 50 watt heats 10 gallon tanks perfectly.

Q: Can this heat up to low 90's degrees?

Yes. The last reading oon it says 93. it may go to 95.
