Lost EVERYTHING except our documents…
Hi, In May, while we were deep in slumber the houses next door caught fire. We awakened to our home security alarm going off because firefighters had kicked down our door to get us out. Within a few minutes of exiting, our house (among others) was engulfed in flames. Within 6 hours of fighting a huge fire that could be exhausted, they decided to knock down all 5 homes. This review is a testimony that first and foremost, if you don’t know God. PRAY! Seek Him. He is an AMAZING God. We would not be here if it weren’t for Him saving us. How in the world you you explain us making it out of this fire unscathed. We lost everything but just before they knocked down all of our homes, my husband asked the firemen if they’d check for our documents. We had this firebox within an industrial grade 4 drawer file cabinet. The cabinet burned and the box started to burn but our social security cards, passports and birth certificates made it out. They were a bit wet but good enough that my husband was able to take his international trip with no problem. THATS THE GOD WE SERVE! And this is the firebox I just reordered. You see the magnitude of the fire just as it was moving onto our home— the stuff around the file cabinet was all melted down including a deep freezer that was completely filled and sat right beside the file cabinet. To be transparent, I believe that it helped that we had it in one of those super sturdy, industrial grade 4-5 drawer file cabinets. I’m sure that helped to buy more time before the fire got to the firebox. In short, you can’t buy God on Amazon but I’d encourage you to get Him first. Then, secure this firebox. Please forgive me for not proofreading… in a rush

Small, compact, and well made! Though, that zipper!
I didn't think it was going to be so small, but that makes it much better to hide behind things or in areas around a house! It's also has a lot of pockets and space to put a lot of papers, documents and even folders inside! The entire inside and outside are very well put together! It looks like it could go through a fire. If I had a second one, I would have loved to test it out on how it handles things! Lastly though the zipper lock, the code zipper lock is easy to open with their code or your own code, the negative, the zipper lock has TWO zippers, and trying to put them back in the locking mechanism can be a little bit of a struggle if you don't have the zippers lined up perfectly with the locking triggers, so it can close. Also even if the zippers are closed up tight, not sure, if anything can get through like smoke or water? Other then that, the little briefcase like zip locker is a nice hideaway safe for documents and folders. Very unsure about anything else, but hey, test things out for yourself, if you need a smaller safe, this is a nice option!

It gets the job done, to protect and organize important documents
I have my important documents stored in a safe, but the envelopes are all worn out, falling apart, and aged. I decided to buy this fireproof document bag to help organize and protect my important documents. The item arrived wrapped in plastic, no branding. Inside the packaging are only two items, the main bag and a document pouch. One thing I immediately notice is how durable the outer material is of this bag. It has a special coating that feels rubbery. Anybody can easily tell that the outer material is water resistant. I tried dropping a few water on it and it all just bounced. The inside material is just plain nylon like any other luggage bag. The zipper looks durable, but they are not waterproof. The combination lock for the zippers is a useful feature to prevent kids from poking around. I was able to fit and organize all my important documents in this bag, like birth certificates, passports, land and property titles, car titles, latest tax filings, diplomas, etc. the size of the bag is suitable for almost all documents except for some very old legal documents I have that uses a very long paper, I have to fold them a bit. The mesh pockets are very handy to hold cards like social security, passport card, credit cards, etc. The additional document pouch is a good addition, but right now I still don’t have a use for it, probably I’ll stock up on some cash in it for the rainy days. Overall, this document bag is very functional. I like the material it is made of. Feels very durable and can protect documents from environmental elements. Highly recommended.

Excellent protective storage with built in organization
I got this to keep all the most important paper documents in my life in a safe yet easy to transport if necessary in an emergency. The quality and built in organization really impressed me. It is easy to carry and not heavy. I also used it to take to the DMV recently since all of those necessary documents were already inside and the process was very easy and fast because I had such clear access to everything. While I hope I never have to find out how it holds up in a serious emergency, so far, I recommend it!

PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING
I read the comments about this bag before buying, and bought it. It’s a great bag but I wil say there are some things people need to know before buying this. 1) The title is misleading. It should be labeled as FIRE RETARDANT not FIREPROOF. This bag is designed to be a travel bag to store documents in a secure location or in a safe for a quick grab and go solution. So the fire rating is meant to withstand a short duration of being exposed to open flames. NOT TO BE ABLE TO SIT IN A OPEN FLAME UNSCATHED. 2) The lock on the bag is designed like many travel bags to be a deterrent… this is NOT a high security lock bag. Yes there are ways around the lock, but it’s meant only to deter and give you the time to react if someone is trying to get into the bag while it’s in your view. So no you cannot set it and forget it and think your documents will always be 100% safe. 3) IT SAYS WATER RESISTANT… NOT WATER PROOF. The zippers are permeable allowing some water to enter over time. A quick splash wont damage your documents but submerging this bag will. 4) The case descriptions states, the coating is made of a double layer of silicone. So yes it will feel weird and somewhat have dust and hair stick to it. 5) It’s $40… and it says bag. IT’S GOING TO BE FLIMSY. THIS ISNT A HARDSIDE CASE. IT LITERALLY SAYS THE WORD BAG IN THE DESCRIPTION. In conclusion, if you understand that this bag is meant for quick grab and go for documents incase of emergencies or travel. And it is not a hardcase briefcase that can withstand bullets to protect it’s contents, I say get it. It’s a great bag to keep on hand to have essential documents at the ready if you need to grab and run or if you travel frequently with documents that need to be organized and kept relatively safe.

Ok but where's the lock?
I wanted to like this more than I do. It really is decent for the price, with all the compartments allowing you to stash what you wish in an organized way. The material is a little cheap looking but that doesn't mean it doesn't hold up to elements. So, in fairness, it deserves a higher mark than I gave, except for one thing that really bugged me. As many others have experienced, it did not come with a lock. It came with the instructions on how to use the lock but no lock and that just isn't ok. I searched through everything to be sure. Nope. Is it fireproof and water resistant? I don't know. I did not put it to the test. It's not worth returning and I will use it for its apparent functionality (minus the lock) and easy of transport in an emergency, big pluses, and I'm hoping the fire and water part are true. But come on with not providing the promised lock.
