Installed, fit and provide security great!
These locking brackets work great with our Yakima mega warrior rack! Read the instructions - they are to be installed on opposite sides of the vehicle and one at the front & one at the back.

Must have deterent.
I should've ordered these when I ordered my rack originally, really they should just come with the dang rack at the price for both. They come in a pair and will replace 2 of the standard mounts that ship with the rack. I used these on a Mega Warrior atop a Jeep Commander. Not going to stop someone determined to pry off your rack, but enough to keep someone from just unscrewing the 8 bolts and walking off with your rack. The keys are actually substantial, not just a little rink-a-dink padlock key or mailbox key, but not quite a house key either. Once installed they do not sit flush or below the bars of the rack, they will be above it, so whatever you toss on top of your rack may not be level or could catch on them if you're trying to slide something over like a storage bin.

Broke plastic and now useless.
Installing these and taking them off was a nightmare. They have like a plastic long nut that drops inside the twist plastic nuts and they sat too high and someone could still pry them off. So I used a rubber mallet to drop them into the hole space and when I went to take them off, I had to pry them off. No matter how gently I tried, one side broke off into the plastic wing nut and tenders that one lock useless now. Luckily the factory Wingnut is still usable

A must have add-on that should come with all Yakima baskets or be cheaper by 50% at least.
1st off these things do exactly what they are intended for and are pretty easy to install. The SKS system is awesome as you can set up all your Yakima locks to use the same key (SameKeySystem). Where I am at it's pretty essential to have everything on your vehicle locked up or down. That being said these will not stop people with tools or time from stealing your rack as even though they are locked now the system is pretty easy to bypass with the proper, easily accessible tools and a little force. These will stop the quick smash and grab types though. So now we come to the biggest gripes about these: --Gripe (1): You pay $400+ for the rack and it doesn't come with any way to lock it down, like pretty much EVERY OTHER YAKIMA PRODUCT DOES, so you have to go out and spend another $80 to be able to. I currently have a Yakima truck bed rack, yup came with locks. I currently have a hitch mount Yakima bike rack, yup came with locks. I also currently have a Deep Space 10 box, yup that came with locks too. So why exactly do Yakima Baskets not come with these locks? We all know the answer, so Yakima can squeeze us all just a little more. It's sad that's how they do these but TBH I will still buy them anyways because Yakima products are so far superior to every other system I have used and it isn't close. --Gripe (2): As stated earlier while it may stop the quick grab & go types it really won't do a lot to stop a tooled up thief. I will give the suggestion of after you have these mounted up measure the amount of exposed threading between the two halves of each bracket assembly when in place and get yourself a 4 metal barrel spacers at the measured distance to cover the thread and install them over the exposed threads on the brackets. That will eliminate the easiest quick removal point for thieves.

Plastic, yes.
Plastic, yes. However, it is very durable plastic. If anyone wants to run off with my Megawarrior, I'm confident that it would be a big pita to do so!

Protects as expected and easy set up
Hate how expensive these are just to lock up the basket to the car but these work great and protect it from being stolen.

Secures rack
If I simply read the instructions I wouldn't have had the assembly/dissemble this 3 times. It locks your rack securely to cross bar. One lock on each side/ opposite corners recommended. Works well.

Bought these only for the peice of mind so someone can’t walk up to my vehicle and steal my rack. Brackets are very expensive for what they are and could be easily broken with a flat/pry bar. Generally happy but could be a better price for what they are
