Bad product, DO NOT BUY!!!!
I saw this on vat19.com and thought that amazon might be cheaper.When you erase, the memo-pad leaves black smudges all over the place leaving a dirty, overused type of look even when I JUST opened the box. This product is terrible and is WAY too overpriced. I tried washing the pad with water, but that didn't seem to help at all. The pen is pretty comfortable to write with especially because of the bendy body. I thought of keeping it, but $10+ for a plain ballpoint pen?! NO WAY!!! This is on it's way back to Amazon and I'm getting my money back.

Poor quality pen, works sort-of better in theory than execution
I bought this for $4 at Office Depot. It wasn't worth 1/3rd of what they are selling it for here ($12, as of this writing).A chalkboard would be better, chalk dust and everything.Put simply, you /can/ write on the silicone pad with a ballpoint pen, and you /can/ then rub it off. It takes some force and whatever you use to erase is really just spreading the ink.The pen is simply a ball point pen cartridge in a molded silicone pencil shape. It's floppy, and in my case, the pen wasnt cut-to-fit perfectly so the cap doesnt go on 100%.On one side, you could bring your own pen, that would be a good idea, but wouldnt help you clean the slate.I suggest a whiteboard, thats what I'm going to use.It does work, you just wouldn't want to use it.
