Survival Multitool Hatchet

Wow. What a perfect camping tool. I love this item... I really wasn’t sure about the capability of this multi tool before buying it; the concerns about quality and especially the locking function were paramount. When I got this tool I was immediately impressed by the design and just the feel of the entire piece. The axe is really an axe! It’s sharp and stout; I have never owned a multi tool with a working axe built on the top and backed with a hammer head. The tools inside are uniquely placed for maximum use of the room within the handle. The tools are blackened and I have yet to test the level of lasting coverage that this can take before scratching and loss of color. But the alloy seems very good with Rockwell numbers. I just can’t get over the sharp axe that has a rubber cover that has already been cut a bit! The entire axe and hammer head has a nice sheath to cover things up. The overall length was longer than expected without being too large for easy storage. I have now purchased several RoverTac tools and they have all been really great looking and designed for excellent functionality. I will update after some hard use, which is the ultimate desire for such a well designed tool. I will say that this will also be a very good option for defensive use... I am a big fan of tomahawks due to the ability for self defense even within the hard world of current soldiers. They are more than just tools for opening things and chopping items. They are capable of precise throwing and personal defense. This multi tool would probably not be a great thrower and I am not advocating that anyone throw this item because it would probably just damage or scratch up the cool red handle!!! But I can recommend this highly out of the box and after some basic work done in order to make this recommendation. If things change. I will make sure to let you know.

Right away out of the box I noticed the tools moved a LITTLE more easily than I PERSONALLY preferred, BUT.... nothing that tightening a couple screws didn't fix. OUTSIDE of that, this multi tool is built SOLID. I recorded a few videos of me using the axe, the saw, the hammer, & the can opener but apparently you can only submit one video so I went with the axe cutting video. The saw cut through wood with ease! The hammer works really well. The can opener works as good as any other I've ever used. I like the fact that as I'm swinging this whether, I'm using the hammer or the axe, the other tools seem pretty snug & stay put in their positions instead of working their way lose & getting in the way. The whistle works well & can get pretty rough on the ears. I did the old "shave the hair on the arm" bit to see how sharp the knife blade was & BOY IS IT SHARP! SO IS THE AXE BLADE! BE CAREFUL WHILE HANDLING THIS! As a whole, I like how it feels in the hand. Not too thick, not too bulky. The locking mechanism works really good so when you need to use them they don't come lose & allows you to put some elbow grease into it if you need to use a little extra muscle. If you like camping or other outdoor activities & want a GOOD, RELIABLE, STRONG, STURDY tool to stick in your bug out bag but DON'T want to SPEND an ARM & a LEG...THIS IS DEFINITELY THE TOOL to get! I know I'm keeping this in my outdoors bag from now on!

I keep a first aid/ survival bag in my car that includes a premium brand multi tool. The multi tool and other gear in my bag are great for most situations but the RoverTac fills in the gap left by the others. It is the perfect size and weight and the axe head and hammer are useful and sturdy. I first purchased an off brand axe/ hammer multi tool and it literally starting falling apart in testing. I was weary to try any others thinking they were all just gimmicks, but decided to give the RoverTac a try. Glad I did. For the money the tool looks and feels durable and performed well in my light duty testing. The locking blade and tools are a great feature and the 5" saw is also nice. If you are familiar with premium brand multi tools then you probably know that the saw blades are tapered so as to avoid binding while cutting. The RoverTac saw is not tapered so I was concerned it would not perform well. This turned out not to be the case and the saw performed well with only minimal binding. The extra length also increased its usability. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because it hasn't been tested in a real world survival/ emergency situation. I suspect however, it will perform well based on my initial testing. There are plenty of gimmick tools out there, but if you understand this tool's intended uses and limitations, then I would check it out.

Its summer and time for hiking again. I had mainly got this for two reasons: 1)As a multi use protective tool to keep in my car. 2) As a tool to take on my hikings. In that order. And I must say, the tool feels well made, esp on taking it's knife out, it can prove to be a lethal weapon, axe on one end, knife on other. And it looks pretty intimidating. Only thing which only time can tell, is how it will hold up with regards to rusting,b like not sure if that powder black coating will hold up fine with age but it's not that pricey so if it does, I'll worry less. Overall a good tool for the money.

Bought this for my husband before a camping trip and he uses it all the time. One of his favorite gadgets!

JUST BUY IT. This axe is not only a tool but it can be used for defense. The edge is sharp and it will cut and has no problem with cutting wood. What's nice is that the other tools in this multi tool lock in place. The case is ok, nothing special though. Depending on your pants pocket it can fit into your pocket. Hands down great tool by rover tech.

Wir starten häufiger Fahrten in die Natur mit unserem Kleinbus und sind im Sommer auch häufiger Gäste auf Campingplätzen. Hin und wieder Grillen wir dann oder machen ein kleines Feuer. Bei der Suche nach etwas Holz fehlte mir bisher Werkzeug, um beispielsweise kleine umgefallene Bäume passend zu schneiden oder hacken zu können. Ich habe überlegt, ob ich nicht einfach ein richtiges Beil und einen Fuchsschwanz standardmäßig im Auto haben sollte. - Damit meine Kids aber auch mitmachen können, entschied ich mich für dieses Multitool. Das hat schon noch einen gewissen Spielzeugcharakter, erfüllt aber seinen Zweck. Mit der kleinen Axt muss man fleißig draufhaun und die Säge ich auch nicht für die dicksten Äste gemacht, aber mit etwas Geduld klappt alles. Der Feuerstahl ist ein tolles Gimmick, was einen Hauch von "Survivalfeeling" aufkommen lässt. Ich kann das Multitool empfehlen. Einige Dinge sind nicht super gelöst, aber angesichts des Preises halte ich 5 Sterne dennoch für angebracht. - Der seitlichen Flächen des Griffs bestehen aus einem glänzend rot beschichteten Kunststoff und sie fühlen sich auch so an. Ich vermute da kann durchaus etwas reißen, wenn man beim Hacken damit mal auf einen harten Untergrund kommt. - Der Schwerpunkt liegt ungünstig beim Hacken. Die zahlreichen Werkzeuge zum Ausklappen haben zu viel Gewicht im Vergleich zur kleinen Axt. Der Schwerpunkt liegt etwa in der Mitte. - Bei zwei von mir bestellten Multitools, war die Hammerfläche schief. Lässt sich dennoch benutzen, sieht aber nicht schön aus.

Decent assortment of tools. Sharp. The metal is pretty soft so not for any heavy use at all. Found it useful for things like banging in tent pegs, making very small kindling and cutting cordage while camping. It’s small so it’s easy to fit in the pouch on my backpack alongside my water bottle. But it’s also too small to really swing it to chop wood.

Das Werkzeug macht rundum einen soliden Eindruck. Umso mehr hat es mich überrascht, dass sich bei der Verwendung des Hammers (Nagel einschlagen) die Halterung des Feueranzünders/der Pfeife geöffnet hat, was sich als ziemlich störend erwiesen hat. Dass hier einfach die Verrastung nicht ausreicht, sollte beim Testen eines Produkts eigentlich auffallen. Da die beiden Funktionen für mich weniger wichtig sind, habe ich die Halterung mit Tape befestigt. Ansonsten zurück schicken.
