Used a little for kitchen but bought to deter dogowner/dog from visiting our yard and it worked!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Bought this due to being able to buy high volume to use as needed in garden.I did take a bit out and put in a spice jar for personal use, and it is very good quality, tastes great, but I bought it to use to place around my garden. I have three issues I wanted to take care of and all three were indeed handled by using this: squirrels that were digging in the garden bed, flower bed, and removing things; raccoon family that was intent on just being destructive and didnt seem to want to eat anything, just run through and dig; and most importantly a neighbor who likes to walk their dog into our yard and allow their dog to do their business in our flower garden and area and does not pick it up - they act like our yard is a dog park area but they don't pick up. Was driving me nuts but didnt want to start an issue with a neighbor. I decided to try this. It worked, the dog sniffed the edge of the yard where I had sprinkled this and just went by. Even with coaxing the dog by the owner, it didn't step in the yard. Squirrels quit visiting the garden and flower bed, and raccoons moved on. You do have to reapply when it rains, but that is fine. I think at this point it just isn't interesting to the dog or the neighbor to visit our yard anymore, and wildlife has moved on as well. So happy to have found a deterent that wasn't chemical based. I do have my own pets and I felt this would be safer should they explore or walk through the area as well. Quality:Works great as a food spice, but worked amazingly in ridding our yard and garden areas of an inconsiderate neighbor and some destructive wildlife.Functionality:Worked as expected with food. Worked beyond expectations for garden and yard use.Value for money:More than worth the price. I got some great cayenne pepper for the kitchen, kept from having a dispute with a neighbor, my yard is not so attractive to the dog anymore so the neighbor has quit visiting us and leaving behind what he should pick up, wildlife has been deterrred as wellLongevity:For use around the yard, you do have to reapply after rain. However, I believe there is some residual benefits for now I don't apply as often and there is the same benefit as if I did frequently. Hope this helps!

Protects Plants from invaders
Trying to keep the squirrels and raccoons out of my outside flower, plant and herb pots and beds. This seems to be helping. They donât like it and I sprinkle weekly on the cypress mulch and or soil. It doesnât negatively impact the birds or the flavor of the herbs.

The pepper is great!
So the pepper đ¶ is great! The container they shipped it in is NOT.... arrived with 2 holes, leaking pepper everywhere. Besides that? Great!

Weak, 2/3 full, Cayenne Pepper
UPDATE: After further review of the container, it was cracked in 3 places. This is why 1/3 of the contents were in the plastic bag and the strength of the cayenne pepper was weak. There was plastic wrapped around the product container, good it was because there was about a cup of the cayenne pepper in the plastic. The container was only 2/3 full, where it should have been filled almost close to the top. I thought the seal wasnât there, but it was. Iâm not sure if it had been removed and glued back on or not. Iâm not going to use it for cooking. The cayenne pepper doesnât have that strong cayenne smell, so Iâm not sure itâs a 100% cayenne. The smell didnât deter the cats and other wildlife I was trying to keep out of the yard or off the property. If you want a product thatâs not a true cayenne pepper, then itâs for you. If you want to pay over $35 for a 2/3 full container, when it should be more, then itâs for you. If you want to purchase something that you donât know if it has been used by someone else or opened before you, then itâs for you.
