Modern interpretation of a gym locker padlock
An excellent lock from a name I trust. It's not laden with features (it is, after all, only a padlock), but it is a solid performer. Works as advertised, has no problems functioning in a steamy gym locker room environment. Unfortunately, I pretty much use this padlock exclusively in Locker mode since I have it on my gym locker. That means I am always entering the code on the dial instead of benefiting from the Bluetooth proximity activation feature (since my phone is always in my locker when I use this lock). That said, it does it's job well and has given me no problems or issues at all.One small bug: if you close and then quickly open the lock again before the lock's mechanism clicks, it will remain unlocked. Even if you close it, it will still be openable. The only way to make it lock properly again is to enter the code on the front of the lock (like you are unlocking it), and let the lock unlock. Then lock it again and do not attempt to open it until after the mechanism clicks. I can repeat this behavior, so it does seem to be some kind of bug, but at least it is easy to resolve without any complex steps to follow.

i love key-less locks
I love not having to carry keys with me! I use this at the gym and I can unlock it with or without my iPhone. I usually just use the touch pad on the lock, and I dont pull my iPhone out from its running case. Having both options to open it is very convenient to me.I left this in my car once and someone broke in to steal spare change, and managed to rummage through my center console and noticed the lock and stole it. You can't track it, but it is nice to know that they will never be able to use the lock because Master lock wont help someone without the registration info.I had great customer service contacting Master lock, and I immediately bought another one of these bluetooth locks and I am happy again.

better than the bluetooth doorlock I bought
I bought this for my gym locker, but I didn't think about having to take the phone with me so that when I return, I can unlock it. It does have a locker mode, but if the sole purpose of purchasing this lock for a gym locker, you might as well by a less expensive lock, unless you keep your phone with you. It does work very well, better than the bluetooth doorlock I bought. It always 'sees' my phone and works flawlessly.I don't know if I got a bad lock or not. The battery is supposed to last for a year, but the one that came with mine died within 2 weeks of every day use. I bought a new battery and it barely lasted 3 days with no use. Perhaps a bad battery? So I am on my third battery now. I could have bought a regular lock for the price of 2 batteries ;0) But, I'm a geek and I love to try things like this.If this third battery dies soon, then it will go back to Amazon, but like I said, other than the battery issue, it is a cool lock and works very well.
A**.
Save your money and don't buy this.
This is the first review I've written on Amazon, but after the worst 3 days with a product, I had to review it. I received this on Monday 6-19. I downloaded the associated app, registered with the app and I thought all would be well. After reviewing the instructions it was a simple press of the center button once you register the product to use the app with the lock. But for some reason it was not working. After an hour of consulting the "user guide" and master lock's support website I was still unable to unlock the lock and remove it from the packaging. Finally I decide to remove the battery and try to "jump" the lock. This is a backup option that is available. But this option would not work either. Finally I decide to try another battery that I have at home and low and behold it works. So I got the lock with a preinstalled battery that was dead. So the following morning (Tuesday 6-20) I go and purchase a brand new battery to put in the lock as I don't want to use the one around the house incase it's almost dead. I proceed to use the lock Tuesday night at Planet Fitness and all works fine. Now comes today (Wednesday 6-21), I go to the gym and unlock my lock to put on the locker. After a 2 hour session at the gym, I go in to get my bag, keys, wallet, etc. and I can not open the lock. I press the center button and get nothing. I try the primary dial code and nothing. I pull the battery out to try the jump option and nothing. So I had to go to the front desk and ask them to cut the lock off of my locker because I had no way to get home, or buy another battery. This lock killed a brand new battery in less than 48 hours. So now I am out the cost of this lock because it truly is garbage. I wish I could leave a half star rating because the only good part was for the one day I actually got it to work, it did perform exactly as it should have.

Complicated, over cooked mobile exp. is a big letdown.
Id love to give this lock a little more love. The lock is sturdy. The Bluetooth sync works great. The problem is the UX. It is so complex. I spend 10 mins at the gym trying to make it lock. One time I thought it was locked, but it wasn't.How hard is it to have an app that has a locked image on it, you hit a button and it unlocks and shows that on the display.Too many features and different user paths, worrying about web based profiles and locker mode - they forgot the basic principle. I wish I'd bought another brand and currently force myself to use it over a traditional lock just coz I spent $$ on it.Design your app like Apple did the iPod. One button that clearly makes it lock and unlock. Forget the other stuff for now.

Great lock, but perhaps not for the mentally challenged
I now have two of these locks. They work great, especially when you take the time to read and comprehend. The support is great as well, therefore, if you're having issues, it's a great idea to contact support as they are patient and know the product well; and will guide you through resolving issue. Once agent had me reference the document that came with the lock and pointed me to the information to resolve the issue, which let me know realize, most issues, you already have the information, if you just take a look at it. It will prevent a call to support and help you to learn the product.
