Great piece of kit. Solid and looks good. Set up was pretty easy but do go to the Netgear website and download the installation manual as this tells you how to access the unit to configure it to your network. This is definately overkill for a home Access Point but my needs are a bit more complex than just home user. Once I had access to the units config page I updated the frmware. This took three goes as the firmware loaded was a few versions out of date but was a simple operation to carry out (the AP connects to a Netgear server to download the firmware). Be patient, it takes a few minutes to reboot after each firmware update. After that it was very straightforward and the system was connected and doing it's job well. Excellent signal strength and seamless switching of devices between the main wifi router and the new AP.

Very easy to configure and delivers great speed and reliability in heavily congested wifi areas. I bought it because the entire block of flats where I live is full of 2.4 and 5GHZ networks and coverage and quality was really poor. With this new tri-band AP benefiting from the not yet popular 6Ghz band I achieved great coverage and speed on Wifi 6E. But even Wifi 6 (which goes on 5Ghz) delivered better speeds and quality than my previous 5Ghz router that was NOT Wifi 6. My phone (Galaxy S22 ultra) was already Wifi 6E ready but for my laptops I had to buy new Wifi 6E cards. All-in-all well worth the price. I just hope others will not read my review and neighbours stay off th 6Ghz band :P

Purchase on the 3 April 2024 - worked great until today and has just packed up..... Less than a year old. Definitely not worth the money. Total rubbish.

The product works fine in proximity. Has some nice features but does not nearly cover as much area as specified. Should cover 300mp, barely covers 50 in a small end of terrace, with the signal dropping altogether sometimes. It’s “meh” at most. Definitely not worth the cash. Maybe for an open space business but nothing should interfere with it.

After spending two days trying to get this Netgear access point to work have given up and returned it for a refund. Needed to create three SSID (in theory you can create 8 on this machine), 1 on 2.4 GHz band for the smart devices, another on both 2.4 & 5 GHz bands, and one on just the 5ghz band. The single 5ghz one kept disappearing for no reason, the web page sometimes detailed it and sometimes there was just a vacant space where it was previously. Rebooting the machine sometimes worked but most times didn't . The reboot times are APPALLING, approx 10 - 15 minutes, yes MINUTES!!!!!! Perhaps I got a duff one, so if you decide to purchase good luck in you endeavour! AAAAAAARRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!

Der NETGEAR WAX625 ist ein leistungsstarker WLAN Access Point, der speziell für kleine bis mittelgroße Unternehmen entwickelt wurde. Dieser Access Point unterstützt Wi-Fi 6, was bedeutet, dass er hohe Geschwindigkeiten und eine bessere Kapazität für mehrere Geräte bietet. Anfangs habe ich mit dem UniFi 6 Pro AP geliebäugelt und die Entscheidung ist mir sehr schwer gefallen. Entweder alles auf Ubiquiti umstellen oder vorhandenes nutzen und erweitern. Ich habe bereits einen GC108 Switch von Netgear mit POE+ und hätte so beide APs verwenden können. Letztlich habe ich mich für den Netgear entschieden, da hier ein 2.5GBit Port plus ein weitere 1 Gbit zum Erweitern am AP selbst vorhanden sind. Damit ist das Teil für mich mehr als Zukunftssicher. Weiterer Grund war die zunehmend schlechter werdende W-Lan Abdeckung der Fritzbox. Bei sehr vielen Fremd-Signalen hatte man in manchen Zimmern kaum noch Empfang. Unser Szenario: Klassische Berliner Altbauwohnung, 5 Zimmer, zentrale Lage des Routers. Mit dem Netger AP habe ich mittlerweile bis in jede letzte Ecke volle Leistung! Sogar auf der Straße vor dem Haus ca. 25m in beide Richtungen ist noch guter Empfang. Einfach mega! Hier einige wichtige Merkmale, die den WAX625 Accespoint auszeichnen: Hervorragende Leistung: Der WAX625 bietet Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 5.4 Gbps, was bedeutet, dass er mit hohen Datenraten umgehen kann. Quasi ideal für Büros oder Umgebungen, in denen viele Geräte gleichzeitig über W-Lan verbunden sind. Zuverlässige Abdeckung: Der WAX625 bietet eine sehr große Reichweite, was ihn wie bereits erwähnt ideal für größere Büros oder Altbauwohnungen mit mehreren Zimmern macht. Er kann auch mit anderen NETGEAR Access Points verbunden werden, um so ein Mesh-Netzwerk zu erstellen, um dann eine noch größere Abdeckung zu erreichen. Der NETGEAR WAX625 ist eine ausgezeichnete Wahl für Unternehmen oder anspruchsvolle Benutzer, die hohe Geschwindigkeiten, robuste Sicherheit und einfache Verwaltung suchen. Mit seiner Wi-Fi 6-Technologie und seinen fortschrittlichen Funktionen bietet er ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und wird sicherlich den Anforderungen moderner Netzwerke gerecht. Ich kann den Accespoint jedem empfehlen. Aktuell ca. 180 EUR und da muss man nicht lange überlegen.

have two at home, as a standalone, they work fine, but not together. now I have them for over one year, the free Insight cloud management expires, I change to local management, since there is no AC for them and the mesh setting only supports in Insight cloud, and they don't support 802.11r. so no seamless roaming, have to switch wifi off and on to connect to the stronger signal, a bit of pain.

Der Netgear WAX615 ist mit Abstand der beste Access Point, den ich bisher gekauft habe. Die Einrichtung war schnell und unkompliziert – entweder lokal oder per Insight-Remote-Management, je nach Bedarf. Die Performance ist top: superschnelle AX3000-Geschwindigkeit, stabiles Dual-Band-WLAN und eine hervorragende Reichweite, selbst durch mehrere Wände. Besonders praktisch finde ich die PoE+-Unterstützung, so spart man sich ein zusätzliches Netzteil und Kabelsalat. Der 2.5G LAN-Port bietet genug Bandbreite, um auch viele Geräte gleichzeitig zuverlässig zu versorgen. Mesh-Fähigkeit ist ebenfalls ein riesiger Pluspunkt – einfach erweiterbar ohne Probleme. Die WPA3-Verschlüsselung sorgt für zusätzliche Sicherheit, was mir im Homeoffice sehr wichtig ist. Der Access Point läuft leise, unauffällig und zuverlässig – genau so soll es sein. Ich bin rundum zufrieden und kann das Gerät uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die Wert auf Qualität und starke Leistung legen!
