If you love animals, you'll need one of these to help you search for chips
This item works great!It has helped us locate owners of several of the strays that we've found.A must have for animal lovers - long battery life and easy to use.Glad we purchased it. Will probably add several more so we can keep one in each vehicle.Save our butt (and the strays too) so we could find out if they were chipped and not have to wait for the vets office to open or drive an hour to a pet store. Helped up reunite several animals with their owners.

Best little microchip scanner
Been using this at work (vet clinic) since Dec and I still have not had to charge it yet. Small size easily fits in pocket. Down side is it only does newer 15 digit microchips. Luckily most microchips used in the past 7-10 years are the 15 digit.

Not very big unit, but decent quality
Good product helped me determine if a stray cat, belonged to anyone and was chipped? The cat was not chipped, but my 2 adoptees are, and the scanner easily read the numbers. I am glad to have one of these in case anymore cats show up?

Perfect for our dog rescue! Works for most commonly used microchips and shows preview long enough to search the number and find the pets information

Reads recent microchip formats, but not older ones, as expected. Documentation could be better.
This is a nice unit. It works fast and easy with our 4 younger cats, but can't read the older chip format on our 14 year old. I expected this. A unit that can read ALL microchips is available, costing 10x as much. I don't think I need that.The documentation isn't great. The listing tells you that you can download all the microchip numbers you read, as it keeps an internal listing of them, but not how to download, and it isn't obvious nor do they give you any clue. Here's how:You connect the device to your computer with a USB cable. Open a blank Notepad file. Then press the button on the device for 5 seconds, and it will transmit all the numbers in memory to that file, which you can then save.

Amazing!!
I am thoroughly impressed at the size, quality and affordability of this scanner! Our dog rescue ordered two more after getting in the first one! They work perfectly!!

It Does Not Work
It doesn't work! Both of our indoor cats are chipped, but the device comes up with "no tag".
