Purchased two sets (18) of these in October for home window display over the Christmas holiday. All candles worked well, as advertised, and together created a stunning and serene nighttime scene. Using the remote, each candle was programmed to illuminate, in flicker mode, at nightfall and to remain lit for 4 hours, then off for 20 hours. This pattern continued for two full weeks with no observable decline in the brightness of the candles. At the end of the two-week period, however, I decided to discard the 3 AAA alkaline batteries in each candle rather than to save them until next December. The remote (I received two because of the double order) worked very well and enables the user to switch the candles on and off, set a timer to 4 or 6 hours of on time, or illuminate the candles continuously; to dim or brighten the candles; and to choose steady light or a variety of flicker modes. The remote is powered by a single CR2025 3V button battery. As for the candles, I will remove the remote battery for long-term storage to prevent internal corrosion. There is also a push-button on-off switch at the base of each candle. The candles fit snugly into their bases (gold-finish in my case), and should not be forcefully joined, as both candle and base are fairly lightweight plastic. In general, the candles should be handled gently, especially when inserting and removing batteries (take care not to cross-thread the candle-base battery access), and situating the candles (care not to knock the "flame" LED). The candles are very neatly manufactured, but delicate. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

My wife bought these for our windows. We have had battery operated lights for our windows before but they would eat batteries. We have used these every night over the holidays for about 4 hours per night. We even left one light on the whole night and never turned it off. The light kept working and did not run the battery down. Well pleased with these. The remote will turn the lights off when you walk in the room, I'd say it is good for about 15 feet from the light. She is pleased with them, so am I. I would buy them again.

I was very pleased with these candles when I first put them in my windows at Christmas time. They were easy to program with the remote. I did the batch all together then placed them in each window. All was well for about a week, then some of them randomly stayed on. I had to manually turn them off then remove the lot to ‘reprogram’ them again. This happened a few times. When they work, they’re great, I just wish that was all the time.

One of the candles didn't work right out of the package. The 8 remaining candles are ok except they come on whenever they want. The timer doesn't work properly, so setting it up is pointless. I would have given 5 stars if they all worked and worked as advertised, but they don't.

These lights are really sharp! They do use a lot of batteries, but it is worth it. The lights can run continuously or in 4/6 hour increments. The flame can be steady or flickering as well as different brightness. All controlled with small remote. Can be manually shut on and off with push buttons at bottom of candle. The candle sits in gold colored base or can be hung from windows with suction cups. Those are purchased separately. Packaged nicely in flip open box. They also hold up very well as people and my animals have knocked them off my window sill on numerous occasions. No breaking, cracks, scratches etc. Definitely recommend.

Nice looking, stable (my cat has only knocked one over twice). I’d prefer a little brighter but that’s personal preference because My house is farther from the street than most. Thought I’d like the remote, but actually prefer a timer because they’re in separate rooms and I don’t like walking all over turning them on and off. Would be fabulous to light up one room for a get-together.

I read a lot of reviews before buying these and they seemed like the best choice for brightness. I was not disappointed. As you can see in the pic, they shine brightly at night when set on the brightest setting. They do lose brightness as the batteries fade, though, so if you plan on leaving them up for a month, plan to replace the batteries to keep them bright. (I set them for 8 hours of being lit.) I had some trouble pulling some of them out of the gold candle holders, so don't wedge them in too tightly if you want to store them as they were boxed.

While these are very nice and easy to set up, I was disappointed that one of them did not work. Amazon compensated me for the problem instead of having to return entire package.
