Avoid the deep discharge of the battery on Nexus 7 tablets
The battery arrived charged 80%, and worked well when initially installed on Nexus 7 tablet. The instructions called for letting the battery get fully discharged, and then fully charged again, to calibrate it. Perhaps that works well when the battery is used on laptops, but on Nexus 7 tablet you should never completely deplete the battery because it will become over-discharged, and will not charge up again. Perhaps the Nexus tablets are missing a battery safety feature that would prevent the irreversible deep-discharge. So, if you get this battery for the Nexus 7, avoid over-charging and over-discharging. The original Asus battery also started malfunctioning after few deep discharges, over the period of few months. That is why I now suspect that this would happen with any current generation Li-ion battery, regardless of manufacturer. I wish I researched about the Li-ion battery technology limitations earlier. Start recharging the battery when it gets down to 10% or whenever your device's battery manager warns you the first time. Again, do not wait for your device to shut down due to an empty battery. I got the full refund from the TechOrbits, so I am happy with their customer service. I suggested that they update the sticker instructions on the initial battery deep discharge. I suspect the initial calibration can be achieved in the safer range of 10% - 90% full.

Nexus 7 replacement battery working well
This battery for the original 2012 Nexus 7 tablet (ME370T) arrived last week. It looks exactly as pictured and fit perfectly in the tablet. I was able to install it fairly easily, being quite familiar with the type of connections used. Only difficulty was getting the old battery unstuck from the adhesive strips holding it in place. That took a little careful pulling and tugging. I was able to remove the back of the Nexus 7 with just a fingernail. It snaps off and on easily. After installing the new battery, I charged it fully, and then used the tablet until the battery ran all the way down and the the tablet shut down. After recharging, the battery life is now much better. It is yet to be seen whether this battery will have as much life as the original. It will take several charge-discharge cycles for the new battery to come up to full capacity. So far, it looks very good.

... a timely manner and was very well packaged and easy to open
Item was delivered in a timely manner and was very well packaged and easy to open. The product shows its quality in the details of the manufacture. Reinforcing adhesive where the wires go into the connector to act as a strain relief is but one example. The item arrived with about 60% charge. I left in on the charger overnight for a full charge. Unit has been working perfectly ever since. I noted that the capacity is slightly higher than the original battery for what should be a little longer life. Never can have too much capacity. I would recommend this product without hesitation and the 3 year warranty shows the companies confidence in their product. I have worked in IT for 35 years and the quality of the hardware you work with is the number one issue. Since there is so much junk out there it is refreshing to see a well made product for a good price.

Nice replacement battery for the Nexus 7
The shipment of this battery was expedited for two day delivery and was received on the specified date. The packaging was excellent, a box within a box which was more protection than required. This battery came with several tools and screwdrivers to assist with removing the back of the tablet. After removing the old battery this one was plug and play, containing 60% of a charge. This is the second battery that I purchased for the Nexus tablet. The first one was purchased from a different supplier and the tablet wouldn't recognize/charge the battery. This battery from TechOrbits was recognized by the tablet immediately and working well.

I can only give 4 stars for now. The quality was great. It does not look cheap like other batteries I bought. It was a perfect match and went it easily. I have only had it for a month. So far it works great. If the battery holds up for a while I will give it 5. I have had the battery for a while now. I followed the charging instructions however I am still having the same problem. My nexus 7 charges all night and the battery is still at the same level. Not sure if it is a battery issue or something wrong with the tablet. I tried several "fixes" I got off the net however none of them has worked.

The battery has the right fit and connector and was easily installed. It arrived with about 30% charge and once fully charged is holding up well. 4-5 days between charges for my normal use (eReader, email, and web). The battery is more expensive than some, I'll only know if the price difference is justified in a year or so..

Not an upgrade
I bought this for a 2012 Nexus 7 whose battery still worked but had lost some of its charge capacity. The replacement went in easily but had several problems. It discharged when the tablet was powered off (off button for 3 seconds). It did not display remaining charge properly - 100% to 50% took a long time but 50% to red happened quickly. It did not operate the tablet for as long as the 4 year old OEM battery. I returned it and Amazon made it very easy for me.As an aside I was having trouble with the tablet refusing to charge on the original battery. The problem turned out to be the 4 year old charger. Replacing it with a cheap charger (ICV 5V/2A charger for Samsung Galaxy S6 ...) fixed the problem and it now and charges as fast as the new original. From now on I will be buying budget chargers and OEM batteries.

Looked like original equipment
I looked at other and decided to go with this one as it seemed to have good reviews. I can say I was not disappointed! An added bonus was that they included a nice toolkit to go along with the battery. These tools aided in the installation. The battery itself looked very close to the original one I was removing (I'd say identical but did not check that closely). I have it installed and working nicely. I would definitely use their product again as I find this one a very good replacement.

Worked like a charm!
The battery worked as soon as it was installed. The toolkit was very capable for doing this job (only needed two of the tools provided). Using articles and videos from the net, the repair is very easy - just go slowly to avoid damaging anything. The Nexus comes apart quite easily which is good for this.
