Worked as designed although I had to use the internal latch from the old one as none of the included fit. Not a big deal as they were all interchangeable. If it holds up I’ll be happy.

I needed to replace my lock because the key was becoming difficult to insert and then would often get stuck once inserted and wouldn't turn to unlock. Sometimes it would take 15 to 20 attempts to get my mailbox open. Also, the duplicate key was lost and the copy I had made at Lowe's didn't work at all. I was nervous about purchasing this after reading reviews of the same and similar products stating that keys weren't going in smoothly and getting stuck on brand new locks, but the post office was going to charge $40 to replace it, so I took a chance on this. I'm happy to report that after a quick and easy installation, the key glides in and turns smoothly with no problems. I chose this lock over others because it had the dust cover and my mailbox is outside and fully exposed. My old lock was engraved with USPS-L-1172C; this lock switched out perfectly.

I finally found a replacement mailbox lock that fits the older models. All it takes is one of the levers and they had it. The others I’ve tried at the big box DIY stores didn’t work quite eight but this did.

It works - but we’ll see how long it lastsI had to oil the cylinder because inserting the key was real hard, roughOil smoothed it some - now waiting to see how long it lasts

Very easy to install after watching a YouTube video. I did it myself after waiting a whole week for the postman to help. I feel so empowered. Worth the price I paid because I have so many other parts I can use in the future or to help out a neighbor.
