It’s a short, quick read—perfect for a lesson at school or a quick story before bed. Great for discussing rhyming words, digraphs, or blends with kids. It’s also a great introductory book to discussing weather or even onomatopoeias. The possibilities are endless. Overall a fantastic book and a fantastic price. Review: Great Rhyming! - As a reading teacher, I can tell you that rhyming is incredibly important for reading development. Because nursery rhymes are going to the wayside (which they shouldn’t!!) it’s more important than ever to find engaging books with rhymes. This book does just that and more. While the plot isn’t really the main focus of this book, rhyming and other literary elements are and that’s perfect for the recommended age group. There’s even onomatopoeia that’s helpful for the classroom setting! The illustrations are rich and engaging. I used this for a literacy class for preschoolers and it was not only a hit with the kids and parents, but also in my mind as a teaching tool.

So cute
I love this book! Bought for Easter and was pleasantly surprised by this. Very few words so toddlers won’t get bored, great rhyming, wonderful pictures. A fun book about a spring day playing in the rain, grabbing lunch, going to the playground. Real life stuff that your toddler can relate to. A big hit!

My son's favorite book - but the writing leaves much to be desired
My kids absolutely love the pictures in this book and ask to read it over and over .. however, I usually make up my own story because the writing, if you can call it that, leaves much to be desired and is basically just short two word phrases that rhyme. Wish there was an actual story to read, or more talk about the worms as my kids love going for walks and looking for worms after a rainstorm.

Adorable
My 2 year old and 3 year old love this book and it’s fun story. It has cute illustrations and silly rhythms that keep them engaged. We read this for the first time after exploring/observing worms in our yard after an early spring rainstorm cleared up.

Great book all around. The art is lovely and very textural. Has a chalk/pastel feel to it and I almost wonder if that was intentional to keep the art looking “dry”, as watercolour in this story may leave the reader with a damp/cold feeling. I enjoy the toned-down but not depressing colour palette, showing the beauty of a rainy day. The story starts out close to the children, but as the day progresses, aI notice the view widens to show more of the world around them. The story is set in the city, but shows outdoor nature, like parks. I am so glad both world’s were shown , as a city person, I find the beauty of the city and it’s accessibility are not showcased enough in children’s books. This is a quick read, a lyrical/poetic story about a brother and sister going out to play in the rain in all it’s glory. I enjoy the word play if “worm weather” over “warm weather”. Even though there are only a few words or sentences per page, there are many pages to this book, so it’s a very satisfying read. As someone who grew up on the west coast, the rain is very endearing for me and as a child playing in the rain is just a fact of life vs. a reason to hide indoors, so a book that shows how awesome our climate is is a win for me.

Love this book. Cute as all get out and wonderful for spring and talking about “worm weather” as they pop out in the rainy weather. My daughter adores it and asks me to read it almost daily.
