Made a big difference with not too much effort. Buy it.
I did not have high hope for this. I tried sharpening knives many years ago unsuccessfully. I have good knives now and wanted to give it another try and the price made it a no brainer. Reading the directions made me believe it would take a long time to do any good. I was wrong. I spent about 90 minutes on six knives and it made a huge difference. My knives were not dull - they would go through soft tomatoes or chiffon basil without a problem. But now they glide through such jobs. I’m sure a professional would spend more time and get a better edge but I’m ecstatic with the results I got in a such a short time. The instructions were short, clear, and effective. I think I was overthinking it when I tried before. One piece of information in particular was helpful in determining progress. The instructions said to watch out for the blade forming a lip on the opposite side from the one being sharpened. When that happens, start sharpening the other side. I did that, slowing down and using less pressure, and the results were great. I used the angle guides for about two minutes to get a feel for the proper angle then just winged it. The low angle surprised me. I doubt I was always on point but the results were good so perfection can wait. Great value. Strongly recommend.

It’s decent
First of all, a whetstone should not be ridiculously priced, which is why I chose this. Aesthetically speaking, it doesn’t look as nice as the image, as the join between the 2 grits is wonky. But, it should serve its purpose.I was a bit put-off when reading the instruction booklet…it directs us to check the surface flatness of each side with a “fix stone”, yet there isn’t one included and there’s 2 empty slots in the box for additional accessories. This advice is provided AFTER boasting about the “17 processes and 3 inspections” the whetstone undergoes during manufacturing. Also, the instruction booklet provides a website to visit for video help using the product, but I highly suggest you DO NOT go down that rabbit hole!If you’ve never seen a whetstone used, simply check YouTube for help.

It sharpens
Does what it is supposed to do and sharpen your blades, broadheads, or whatever else you are trying to make sharp.

Sharpens better than handheld sharpeners
It sharpens well enough once you get the hang of it. (Better than the handheld knife sharpeners.) I especially use this to sharpen the (removable) blade in my mandolin slicer. (I use the mandolin slicer daily for slicing veggies, so it needs to be sharpened regularly.) My only complaint is that it leaves black stains on my fingers, presumably from the aluminum oxide in the sharpening stone. The stains don't wash off easily.

Due to rare disease, I am now weak and have been using a higher quality electric knife sharpener, however it takes up space and a hassle to get out ( I have to bend over) This on I can just leave on the counter, plop on a stool, and take my time sharpening or honing the knife. Hopefully I will do it more frequently and less work.

Debris and marks
I just received this product and it has marks and some stuck on debris. It looks like it was found on the floor. I haven't used it yet and will update accordingly.
