I use this Bible in jail ministry. It is easy to read. The paper quality and color printing make this Bible feel more valuable and inviting to the first-time Bible reader. It focuses on understanding rather than promoting evangelism. And the price makes giving multiple copies affordable. The Bible can be and often is a lifetime study. The NIV Study Bible is a great way to start.

Really beautiful NIV. Vast improvement since 1987! I like the archaeology and biblical theology notes and articles in this version, as well as the great concordance and cross references. Color printing is great. I was skeptical that I needed another study Bible, but wow was I wrong, this product is unique. Even the maps at the back are more helpful than other maps I have. The paper quality for the map pages is normal paper so it's easy to flip pages, and the content for the maps is innovative, so I'm learning a lot just from looking at maps. This is a sight for the eyes, a visual product, colorful and attractive, nice fonts, hard to put down. I now have two of them so I do not have to lug it around. This has become my go to study Bible over every other product. The only two changes I would love but are not practical are to have a single text block layout like the NIV Biblical Theology SB and to print an Anglican canon version to include the apocrypha for us students of the LXX who cross reference the NT with so many quotations from the apocrypha. The Zondervan Cultural Backgrounds SB does this very well.

I bought 10 of these for a prison ministry. The paperback cover is required for jails. The font is 7.5, a little small for me personally, but tolerable for a younger man. The study notes are great.

Great study bible. I took a star away because I bought it in new and I received it with the first page ripped out.

This is one of the best, most helpful study bibles available! The study notes and other material packed on each page is exceptional. The cross references and colorful diagrams are most helpful.The only downside is the packaging. Which is why this one is only $20. The paper cover impacts the practicality and usefulness of the richness found on each page. If you’re searching for a study bible, I would instead recommend paying $12 more and getting the hard cover version.
