Great shoe for teaching dance! No pain! Good arch and heel support.
SO THANKFUL to have found this shoe! With the laces, you can choose how tight you'd like the fit. I teach 20+ dance classes per week and these have saved my feet! I am normally a very consistent "9", but the 9.5 fit me perfect. The sizing reviews were all over the place so I order three different sizes and ending up keeping the 9.5. I can still perform chainés and pirouettes safely without twerking my knees. I can also still "pointe my toes" while teaching/demonstrating. The tip of the shoe is squared off which is also very cute and helping for teaching pointe (although I do not go up on pointe in theses shoes). They are very lightweight and breathable too. I usually wear them with a pair of thin socks. I have been teaching with them for about a month and I think they are a great shoe! Highly recommend.

Just Right
These shoes are very comfortable and have good arch support. Can't wait for the next Zumba and salsa classes. True to size but don't wear "thick" socks.

Go up a size from normal street shoe size
Capezio shoes are top quality.

These are very roomy
I wish the heel was more snug, as it is a dance sneaker! I expected more from a Capezio product. A bit long, a little narrow, and not the stability I expected. The style is suitable for wearing with dress pants when traveling, when a regular sneaker won't do. I would recommend a different shoe for actual dance practice.

Might run small BUT...know your own needs.
Bottom line: sizing for dance shoes is very subjective & you should be aware of how YOU like your dance shoes to fit before trusting other reviews. I usually wear a 7.5 in street shoes, occasionally a 7 and usually a 7 fits but I like the 7.5 better. Ibought these shoes for irish dance & I ordered an 8 and they fit great. I have wide toe box, and a high arch, and this fits both nicely. I prefer a snug fit for my dance shoes (my irish dance shoes are 3.5 soft/ghillie & 4.5 hard/jig) and I think I could have gotten away with the 7.5 in these as well. If you want these to fit like your street shoes (room/not tight in the toe box)--go at least half size up but no more than a full size. If you like your dance shoes snug, you can order these true to size or at most a half size up. I notice a lot of these reviews seem to be from people with very wide feet/ankles, this is not the case for me. On my first use I find I like the balance of being able to turn & not sliding too much--seems others do not have this experience, I think it depends on what you want them for. If you want super grippy shoes, these are not it. The synthetic sole is somewhat firm & I think they need to be softer for grip. I can move easily without fear of falling. Cannot speak to durability yet.

Great for Zumba!
I don't think most people know what a difference the right pair of shoes can make in an activity like Zumba. The ability to flex the feet provided by the split sole helps build foot muscles. The spin spot at the ball of the foot makes the swiveling and turning in the routines easy and painless. I'm in good shape, but I have fibromyalgia and am double jointed, so shoes with even a small amount of grip make my feet, knees and hips instantly painful. I exercise to help keep my joints in place and these shoes make that possible. Before these sneakers, I used Capezio jazz shoes, which have a much thinner sole and profile. They were far better than regular sneakers, but they had less cushioning in the sole and shoe overall. I think these sneakers are much better for Zumba overall. As for sizing, I was concerned because my street shoe is 5.5-6, and the Capezio jazz shoes I'd had were a 7, but still tight. I ordered 7 in these sneakers and prayed for the right fit - and they're great! I'm so, so happy with these. Also, I chose these because they're suede-free, which means they can be tossed in the wash. I did that every few weeks with my other Capezios and they held up beautifully, looking like new on top even after two years and having danced the sole away. I'm hoping these sneakers hold up the same way. I wash in cool and set out on the rack or outside in the shade to dry. No dryer. After seeing how much I love these, other ladies in the class have asked where I got them. I sent them the link to these shoes, so if you see a few orders come in from Orange County, CA, you're welcome! ;)

Not for wide feet, runs true to size
I have narrow feet and sized up a half size based on reviews. It seems they run true to size length wise and are very narrow. They are too long for me and snug around the foot. I’m sure if I had bought my actual size they would have worked, but I can’t imagine them fitting someone with wide feet no matter how much you size up. Them being too long prevents them from bending with my foot when I point, it’s just my foot pointing in and empty box and the shoe remains normal on the outside. I’d only recommend this for people with the narrow feet and just order your normal size unless you’re between sizes.

Excellent … conform to foot.
Purchased 1/2 size up since wear with Athletic socks … first day felt a bit “off” … second day better, thereafter perfect … they conformed to very comfortable fit.
