Just received it and am feeling it out. At this point, I give it 4 stars because to me, it has some quirks. It may be worth noting that my use is to measure polar coordinates in a Cartesian coordinate system on paper.The steel arms seem sturdy and the scales are easily read.First quirk, it did not come with a battery and there were no clear instructions on how to install one. It was easy to locate the battery compartment but for me, opening it was a little challenging. After obtaining a battery and opening the battery compartment, it required trial and error to determine proper battery orientation. In my experience, the positive side normally goes up. In this case, it goes down.Second quirk, I am familiar with polar coordinate systems having 0 degrees to right and angles measured in a counterclockwise direction. This facilitates conversion to Cartesian coordinates where the positive X axis is to the right and the positive Y axis is up. On this device, with the arms together and the scales and display oriented for reading, the pivot point is to the right and angles are measured in a clockwise direction.I may revise this review after I have actually used the device for a while.
