Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure

A really cool book. The pop-ups are incredible.

I bought this for my husband to read to our daughter at night. He loves Star Wars and she loves to watch the movies with daddy, so this was a really great gift for both of them to enjoy. They already have "A pop-up Guide to the Galaxy" so this was a great addition to the collection. The book is very detailed and the pop-ups are intricate. We purchased on sale for $20 and it was a steal. They don't love it quite as much as the other one, but that's mostly because they are less interested in Episodes I-III and they are more interested in Episodes IV-VI. This book seems to me more concentrated on the first three episodes.

I always believe that pop up book is best reviewed by showing it to you rather than putting it into words, because words simply are not enough to describe the amazing, intricate, astounding pop ups that lie hidden in every page. and Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure is no exception. Matthew Reinhart has done it again with style! (and yes, it has a lightsaber that lights up when you open the page!) In comparison with his previous Star Wars pop-up book (entitled Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy ), I'll have to say I prefer the previous book which is filled with stunning pop ups that will make your jaw drops when you see it (especially with the darth vader head pop up). Nevertheless, this book doesnt lack the same punch that will keep you mesmerized. In conclusion, if you're a pop-up book collector (and chances are you're familiar with Matthew Reinhart's past works), this book is just as good as his other pop-up books and definitely worthy to find a place in your pop-up books collection. I'd highly recommend it! If you're Star Wars fan and not a pop-up book collector or never seen a pop-up book before, then you're in for an adventure that will last for many years to come! and in fact, I would recommend to order Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy as well, if you have not already own one! These 2 books are a MUST BUY!

I actually can't quite believe the complexity of this pop-up book. Multiple pop-ups on every page, pop-ups within in pop-ups, a lit lightsaber, and gobs of detail. My daughter spent a lot of Christmas day poring over this book and she and my son take turns showing it off to their friends. Highly recommended for any kid (or adult, for that matter) who is obsessed with all things Star Wars - or just appreciates a killer pop-up book.

OMG!!! This book is totally magical. I'm a huge fan of Mathew Reinhart and Rorbert Sabuda books and this one totally blew me away. Every square inch has something amazing to look at. There sooo many pop-ups, and descriptions of the Star Wars world. The paper craft and engineering... I struggle with the words to describe. So many colors...Buy this book, buy all of his books. Do it now! Also, these are not kids books, these are small pieces of art.

I LOVE Matthew Reinhart pop up books. I have almost all of them, and am working on a full collection. These are my Christmas gift to the family every Christmas. Keep in mind that these books are NOT really meant for young children. They are designed for adults and older children who will appreciate the engineering and design efforts that go into creating a truly stunning pop up book. They are more akin to a work of art than a toy. The pages are very intricate, and you must be very careful when turning them or opening new spreads in order to make sure they fold back up properly. That said, this book did not disappoint! The spreads are all well designed and illustrated, and they highlight all of the most visually interesting aspects of the movies.

This was a gift to a seven year old boy who loved every page. This will give him hundreds of hours of pleasure reading the text and examining and playing with the graphics that are part of this amazing pop-up book. He loves the detail and already knows all the characters in the story. This a great for a child of any age (up to 90 years) because of the love that is put into the making of this book.

Perfect gift for my 4 years old son who loves Star Wars, and even I like it. The pop-up is a bit complex, so it takes some time to fix if somehow the picture gets tangled. Just never leave your 4 years old alone playing this as they get too excited. Sadly the light saber doesn't light up. Not sure if it's supposed to be light up at the beginning, but it looks like it. But still, great stuff. Looking forward to other Pop Up!

Comme d'habitude, Reinhart nous offre un très beau livre pop-up (c'est-à-dire avec des illustrations montées en volume). Un must pour quiconque serait à la fois fan de Star Wars et de beaux livres. Attention, ingénierie papier de Reinhart est toujours très belle mais très fragile. A ne pas laisser entre de jeunes mains. Le simple fait de tourner les pages trop souvent finit par abîmer (légèrement) les pages, et ce en faisant attention. Si vous cherchez un livre pop-up pour des enfants ou des personnes peu soigneuses, il existe d'autres très beaux livres moins fragiles que ceux de cet auteur.

Reinhart has done a fantastic job of re-creating the various Star Wars characters and ships in this book. There is a wonderful amount of detail which brings the characters to life in very creative and clever ways. This book is more of a pop-up encyclopedic volume, rather than a story book. I would recommend this to all young readers (though not too young) and lovers of Star Wars.
