Q: Can these be used with a Yamaha home theatre receiver? Can the be used as both front speakers and rear speakers. I have a 5.1 system.

Yes they can. That is how I’m using my 2 pair on my Yamaha receiver. Sounds excellent.

Q: Is the moukey amplifier needed? Or any other amplifier needed?

Dear customer, a power amplifier is needed to match with these passive speakers( We recommend Moukey Bluetooth Power Amplifier System). Please don’t exceed the maximum input power (50W for each speaker) and impedance ( 6 ohms for each speaker).

Q: How is this compared to dayton audio b652 and avx 6.5" in terms of build quality, power rating and frequency response?

I am a big fan of Dayton audio. Are use their components in my own builds. I would have to share with you that these speakers are comparable. The Boxes are solid and not cheap and flimsy as you may expect. The drivers are very responsive and crisp. These are very good value for my money.
