Q: Does this float to top?

You use Perlite to aerate soil because Perlite holds air and not water (that would be vermiculite). So yes Perlite will "float" in a bucket of water. When mixed in reasonable proportions with soil, the soil will hold the Perlite in place. That said if you flood the soil surface with so much water that you actually disturb the surface of the soil. yes, you will get some Perlite floating out of the layer of soil you drenched/disturbed.

Q: Is this a grade #2 or #3? I am looking for a super coarse for bonsai

Definitely little small pellets-mostly half size of pea-not appearing powdery-big bag for what seems a good price. Need spot to store-very satisfied

Q: How much does the bag weigh?

It is a very lightweight substance. Maybe 5 lbs - not more than 10 lbs. I purchased it several years ago and used it in my flowerbeds. It really helped to loosten the soil!
