Heath Zenith Chime Kit

I like it! I don't understand the negative reviews. It does, indeed, appear to be old stock, but I'm fine with that. I think older stuff was made better. I wanted a real mechanical chime and that's what I got. The fancy brass cylinders are fake, the real chimes are two flat steel bars, as on a xylophone. It's loud and sounds great. The cover is real wood and looks very nice. Installation was fast and easy. For this price it's hard to go wrong.

Looks great and easy to install

I was quite pleased to find something that had a traditional wood appearance without costing a lot of money. The unit was easy to install and connect to wiring. The sound loud, quality was decent with a traditional “ding-dong”.

The tone is very pleasant. It is not nearly as loud as my previous bell, but fine for this house. It might not be loud enough for larger homes. The best feature I think; the dog used to go nutso with the old bell, but not with this one.

Old fashioned door bell that doesn't sound like a cheap electronic ring tone. Can't beat that mechanical ding-dong! Glad I was still able to buy one because of these guys.

It was best way to replace existing chime!My old one wore out! I looked on Amazon and found the same one! It has a great price and fit the same location! New styles are much smaller! I did not have to repair wall or wallpaper! Great way out and it came in two days!

Returned the first one due to being defective. The replacement wasn't better. It arrived with a chime off of it and there was mouse droppings inside the box. We tried to use but it didn't work. Sadly, it's too late to return. This is junk.

Sounds and looks pretty good and is a pretty good value compared to other wired doorbells. Instructions that came with it are for a different model and indicated it could be mounted either vertically or horizontally. However, this is patently not true...this model can only be mounted vertically for the wood cover to be able to be mounted (it hangs on a tiny little plastic peg at the top edge) and for the doorbell to chime correctly. Very irritating that I now have 4 unnecessary holes in my wall that I must fill and paint over.
