Almost Perfect in every way
SKIP TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS REVIEW TO READ AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SOME DIFFERENCES I FOUND WITH "THE MANVEX COLOR OFFERINGS"First off, this is a beautiful case! It exudes quality, sophistication and professionalism in the color, texture and overall design. I love how I am ALWAYS asked several questions about my Surface RT before, after and sometimes during meetings and conferences that I attend. I attribute this in part to my Manvex case. This is my third attempt to find perfection in a cover for my Surface RT and there are many of my RT brethren out there who are searching in the same way. I have given this case 5 stars because it is the best case that I have found for me, and since ALL reviews are subjective, biased in some way, I am going to briefly explain why my case deserves 5 stars despite its imperfections.1. The Manvex (Brown) case has two methods to ensure that the case stays closed - they work in tandem but not simultaneously...If the keyboard is attached, then you must use the elastic band. If the keyboard is not attached, magnets embedded in the cover of the case will securely hold it in place. I actually prefer to carry the keyboard with me at all times just for convenience, then detach and stow it underneath the Surface when I'd rather feel my way through my tablet experience.2. There are (4) sets of (3) channels that run the length of the inside of the case that allow you to set the viewing angle of the tablet. This is great since the Surface only has one angle when using the built-in stand. These channels provide just enough friction to keep it in place. In my experience, these channels almost seem to hold the tablet in place better when the keyboard is attached to the Surface.3. This tablet is finger friendly! There is more than sufficient "finger swiping" room on the tope, left and right sides of the Manvex Case. For those of us Surface users who have not realized yet that swiping from the top and bottom of the screen yields the same result, this case is fine for you, too. Note about the bottom support - I wish they had scooped just 2mm more from where the Windows logo is since it is partially covered. When I want to hit that logo, I have to twist my hand about 180° so the flesh of my finger tip can have maximum contact with the logo since the area is so small. I have average sized hands and slightly longer finger nails than most men (I play guitar and piano). If you have really short fingernails (nail biters?), you will be just fine.4. Minimal on Velcro!!! This is really the main reason why I love this case. Other cases use Velcro to strap the case into place but the Manvex design is easily the best design out there. There is one long Velcro strip that is stitched, not glued, on all four sides to the lower back of the tablet. The straps that keep the tablet from slipping out the bottom of the case (only when the case is being flipped open into working position) are of the same piece of the case so if/when the tablet has to come out for whatever reason, the fuss is at the lowest possible level. It is REALLY secure and doesn't shift around at all. This is the most secure Surface case I have found to date and I have stopped looking for anything else.5. I have access to all of my ports and memory card slot. Not that there is no way to open the built-in stand while the tablet is in the case (someone may have that question, out there), but you wouldn't anyway. There are other Surface cases out there that use the built-in stand for propping but it looks like a real hassle to me. My last Surface case (an Evercase) was a 3 star case IMHO, and because my Surface shifted around inside of the case, and I had to always un-Velcro and re-Velcro the straps for standing position, the power button was hard to properly de-pressed. No issues at all with the Manvex case. One note about the charging port - the side straps do not interfere with connections for charging but then, the Surface charging port is a really crappy design to begin with. It's going to be fiddly whether or not you're using a case.6. This case is designed such that the interior of it always stays facing the tablet, unlike some other designs out there. This is important to me as far as keeping debris and yuk off of my tablet."THE MANVEX COLOR OFFERINGS"I originally wanted the black version of this case but read several reviews which clued me in to the fact that there are different versions of the black case on Amazon for sale. I contacted Amazon to see if I could have someone visually check to see if there was a black one that was identical to the brown one that I went ahead and ordered but they could not due to the location from which it was shipped. If you are weighing the black one vs. this one, beware that they may not be the same as there are different revisions of the black case and it seems that this brown on is the latest version of the Manvex case and the one that I ordered.Happy Surfacing!

Used to love it - but it's changed
My old review is below. I recently needed a new one because I used my Surface Pro about 50-60 hours a week for 3 years with work so it was bound to wear out. So I'm not saying it wasn't durable because I use it a lot. So I ordered a new one thinking it was going to be the same one. But it's not. The material and color seems the same or very close (it's hard to tell though because of possible fading of the old one) but there's one noticeable difference that made me put my old, beat up one back on. I hold my case in portrait mode with the pen holder side on my left. So the part on the right (which in the landscape-oriented picture would be the bottom portion next to the keyboard) has no over the tablet. So in the front it only covers 3/4 of the screen and it used to go all around it. So my hand is constantly feeling the sharp edge of case. I'm sure there may have been reasons for why they changed this design but I am 2 stars less happy with this version than I was with the other. I was initially a 5+star happy. I probably would've it 4 stars if I wasn't so annoyed that they changed it and didn't say that it was changed. I would say if you're buying a new one look elsewhere first.Old review:This case is not only classy, but it turned my Surface Pro into a laptop. No more fumbling with that flip out thing in the back. I can reach all parts of the screen perfectly and it makes the Surface Pro easier to handle. I use the Surface Pro at my work so I'm carrying it around ALL DAY. Yes, this adds a little bit of weight and thickness but it's still worth it because I can just shut it and then I'm good to go. It feels less fragile so if I were to drop it, I feel like it would do okay. It's easy to open it and flip the back around. I typically don't keep the keyboard attached unless I'm going to be doing some major typing but then it works like a laptop wonderfully. It still closes easily even with the keyboard attached and I have the thicker one with the raised keys. You can choose one of I think it's 3 spots to have it stand up and it stays in place perfectly.I only have one complaint. I love love LOVE the pen holder but it's in a weird spot for someone who's right handed. It would be better if it were moved to the right side of the end it's on because when I carry it closed it's on the bottom and I have to put the pen upsidedown. I'm guessing there's something in the way on the right side for it to be there but it's still an inconvenience.Even with that one negative I would highly recommend this product. I have already recommended it to a friend and if this one ever wears out, which I doubt it would because it's so well made, I would buy another one.
