Very solid table and I like it, but it is a bit darker than I thought it would be and there is a whitish film in the table top and a scent that I can't get rid of...I'm hoping with time both issues will go away!

Distressed, wood grain, whatever you want to call it
One important thing to note is that the top of the table is made of several pieces of wood, approximately 9-10 inches wide and about 1.5 inches thick and bonded together. The entire top has a grain to it, each piece individually. I like the look of that because my last table was smooth top with a varnish and it always showed fingerprints, dirt and any dents. This table is more "wood grain" than distressed but whatever you want to label this as, if you want a smooth top table, skip this one. If you have kids and it's going to look "distressed" this is a good buyThe table weight 178 lbs and comes in three boxes. The assembly was not difficult but it seems to be slightly off level, no big deal. The color is rich and for the price, this solid wood table comes out to be a much better value than many of the veneer pieces of junk on the market.
