Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 Blaster: But Maybe Leave It Out of Paintball Battles
Backstory: When I got the Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 Blaster, I thought, “This is it—the ultimate weapon in the ongoing household Nerf war.” Compact, powerful, and loaded with 12 darts, it seemed destined to elevate me to dart-firing dominance. And to be fair, it does exactly that... in the world of Nerf. In the world of paintball? Well, that’s a story for another day (and a few bruises I’m still explaining). The Encounter: Unboxing the Commander RD-6, I was immediately impressed. It’s sleek, lightweight, and fits perfectly in hand. The 6-dart rotating drum makes for smooth, fast firing, and the 12 included darts ensure you’re always ready for a reload. Loading it up, I felt unstoppable—like an action movie hero, if that hero’s mission was to pelt their unsuspecting family members with foam projectiles. The first test? A living room ambush. The Commander RD-6 didn’t just perform—it excelled. Darts flew true, and the slam-fire action had me clearing the room with speed and accuracy. I was a legend... for about 15 minutes. Then came the ill-advised idea: taking it to a paintball game. The Paintball Incident: It was meant as a joke. “Who needs paint when you’ve got foam?” I quipped, proudly holding up my Nerf blaster. The first round started, and let’s just say foam darts don’t exactly stand up to paint-filled projectiles. While I was trying to line up a heroic dart shot, a paintball hit my blaster with a splat. Another one hit my shoulder. And my helmet. You get the idea. I went out in a blaze of (painty) glory, the Commander RD-6 now sporting some war wounds of its own. Lesson learned. Review: Pros: Compact Power: The 6-dart rotating drum provides rapid-fire fun, and the slam-fire action lets you unleash darts in quick succession. Accurate and Fun: The darts shoot with satisfying precision, making it perfect for indoor and outdoor Nerf battles. Durable Build: It survived everything from being dropped to a poorly planned paintball skirmish. Extra Darts: Comes with 12 darts, so you’re ready to reload without raiding your stash. Great for All Ages: Simple enough for kids, but satisfying enough for adults who refuse to grow up (like me). Cons: Not Paintball-Compatible: Foam darts vs. paintballs is a battle foam will always lose. Stick to Nerf battles. Limited Capacity: The 6-dart drum is great for quick skirmishes but leaves you scrambling for a reload in extended battles. Darts Can Vanish: As with all Nerf products, expect to find darts in the strangest places weeks later (behind the sofa, inside a plant, etc.). Unexpected Adventures: Post-paintball embarrassment, the Commander RD-6 redeemed itself in a backyard Nerf war. My slam-fire technique was unstoppable, and the rotating drum worked flawlessly under pressure. The dog, however, took great joy in retrieving “lost” darts mid-battle, making him an unexpected ally to the enemy team. Another highlight was using it to shoot darts at stacked plastic cups. It’s surprisingly satisfying, and it turns out I’m better at dart trick shots than actual paintball strategy. Final Thoughts: The Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 Blaster is a fantastic addition to any Nerf arsenal. It’s powerful, accurate, and just plain fun. While it might not stand up in a paintball match (XD), it’s perfect for friendly battles, target practice, or unleashing your inner action hero. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. 5 stars—for performance, build quality, and the laughs it brought to the ill-fated paintball experiment. Bonus tip: Keep it Nerf-only, unless you enjoy explaining paintball welts to your friends. Happy blasting! 🎯

Nerf a hit
An impulse buy for a younger family member, who was more than pleased to add this to his toy box. He used it for target practice - on a target he had made and stuck it to a tree in the local park! Good fun if you don’t lose the foam projectiles!

Amazing gun for the price!
Just received and given to my son as a reward and he is very happy with this Nerf gun. He is 6 years old and finds quite hard to load it, but my daughter who is 8y is able to load it. They are playing together and having fun trying to shot toilet paper roll tubes from a distance! The price was really good for the item as it also comes with 12 bullets. I would definitely recommend it! It a nice gift

Bullets get Stuck!
Good product, however the bullets get stuck in the gun and it is difficult to get them out. Also doesn’t really come with enough bullets, so would recommend getting more bullets alongside this product.
